They are going to need to really refine the online. Parrying requires extremely precise timing.

For some reason I always thought Third Strike didn't feel very Steet-Fighter'ish. It was probably the parry'ing system and lack of classic characters that kinda killed it for me.

Meh, SFIII was my most disliked SF game, aside from EX Plus Alpha 2 and 3.

Its usually considered the best one by tournament players...but I respect how you worded your statement. You didn't claim it was the worst, just that you disliked it the most. Nothing wrong with that...

OT - this is wonderful news. A little part of me died when they shut down the Xbox 1 servers. Sure it was the same 20 people still playing that game...lol

I spend probably 500 hours playing this game in arcades, at tournaments, friends house and then xbox...can't wait to see it on xbox live.

I hope the upgrade the visuals but its not necessary. I hope the fix the net code more than visuals...

I knew that my 200 dollar sega saturn pad setup for xbox 360 will come in handy sometime! :)

The only reason it wasn't very well received and probably why you didn't like it...is because its not beginner freindly. If you are just starting to play the game, an experienced player will flat out demolish you. And not just beat you...but beat you with style, embarass you as well as taunt at the end. I was late in to geting in to this game...and got my ass handed to me by friends so many times. But i kept at it, and boy am i glad I did.

A lot of people were turned off by this but it was the right evolution for the series. Sales wise, turning off potential customers isn't smart though, and hence why people see it as a failure.

However I have yet to meet a street fighter pro that doesn't think SF3::3rd strike is by far the most balanced and deepest 2D fighter ever made.

I played the original on the very last day of xbox live for xbox 1...

While those clowns were all playing Halo 2 and getting publicity for not logging off, I was keeping the SF3 spirit alive...lol.

I'm fine with the gameplay/competition. I still play SF2:T on ggpo and get whooped often if I decide to play against randoms when my friend isn't around. I think it really was just the whole feel to the game, mainly the characters. Then again I'm looking at it from a nostalgia view rather than looking at the balance part.

I still like the game, though I rarely play it at all since me and my friend still prefer SF2:T and I play SSFIV often (have it on right now :x )

RE4 and now SF3?  Jesus christ, you have like the worst taste in Capcom games.

I understand. If you didn't play it as much as other games in the series youd have very little nostalgia...And I agree, the style was different. But I remember saying "finally SF is evolving visually and character wise" when it came out. All SF up to that point looked the same.

What I find with other fighters...SF2, Alpha, KOF...when I play with freinds, we will learn each others tactics pretty fast and then it becomes mu buddies Honda VS my Sagat, or my Guile vs another buddies Ken over and over. We played 100s of matches together and we all know what works and what doesn't against each other.

The reason why SF3 stuck with us a little more than other SF games is because we were able to keep evolving while we were playing. It wasn't as predictable... I found that I can win against friends using Alex, Urien, Ryu, Ken, Remi, Ibuki, Chun li, Akuma. It seemed like each mach could go either way and was a lot more unpredictable.

That's pretty much what goes on with me and my friend - we've got 100-200 matches in on some nights. With all the hours we put into it combined with the small roster, it's not too hard to quickly pick up on eachother's patterns/tactics, but I still find it really damn fun. Even after all this time though, her T.Hawk still murders me almost every match. It's ridiculous. Condor Dive and Mexican Typhoon get me everytime. The only char I can reliably kill her with when she's on Thawk is Barlog :x

If she had a ps3, we'd be whoring SSFIV instead.
