The kin really killed the profits for the division. That project was doomed and should have never proceeded to launch.

Not to troll or anything, and in all likely this is incorrect, but didn't someone say that the European units would have already shipped by the end of June? And I imagine they would have wanted to stuff as many as they could into Japan to test the waters for MH Frontier. Anyone here work in a European retailer? Did you get your shipment in June? Although really this is all conjecture, VGC is probably spot on. :Edit: Oh yeah, and Australia and NZ got there's on the first. What was first shipment there?

I doubt retailers had them in stock for 3 weeks or even more. You did not hear any reports about getting a system early or anything like that.

X360 Fiscal year shipments were down about 1m - still over 10m. Here is the progression by year

FY 6/ 2006 - 5.0m (Nov 2005 - June 2006)

FY 6/ 2007 - 6.6m

FY 6/2008 - 8.7m

FY 6/2009 - 11.1m (Microsoft says 11.2m but the four quarterly totals add up to 11.1m - likely 11.15m

FY 6/2010 - 10.3m

FY 6 / 2011 - ??

Actually there were a few reports about some retailers, in Sweden IIRC, breaking the street date. But I don't think that was until the 8th or 9th.
