Forums - Sales - The 360s sales thread. Following the gaps.

I still see the PS3 outselling 360 this year and holiday. I see the 360 selling between 11mil and 13mil, with the PS3 selling between 12mil and 14mil. it shall be interesting to see where the 360 slim sales stabilize at.

Definitely an incredible success for Xbox with the slim launch. But if everything goes as I predicted, then we'll see a steady drop in sales from the Americas. However the Slim has just launched in Europe, so it will either hit a peak or drop steadily but at a slow rate. Now all of these steady drops will stay true till the Slim arcade launches which will boost sales. By how much, I do not know. The big kicker is Sept. with the launch of Halo Reach which will move a large number of systems. Predicting 5 million will be sold in the first month alone.

Buuuuut, don't count out Sony and Nintendo just yet. I'm pretty sure they're not going to let MS go on a winning streak for long. Now for what cards they're going to play is another question entirely.

i fiill you. spot on

Wow the gap between the PS3 and 360 for this year is getting a lot closer.

Yet still very far. Especially considering the gap has been widening again since the release of the Slim model.

Well the 360 has a significant edge to sell more holidays this Holiday. Many people may want to swap out their old 360s for the Slim. The Kinect bundle may also be a success.

I'd be surprised if Sony manages to pull in bigger holiday sales.

I don't know. These Slims sales are still shockingly high. I would have never predicted such high sales. I guess it was more attractive than I thought. You're probably right. I still want more info on Kinect before drawing conclusions.

It all depends on the holiday season, which will depend on how agressive MS is, and I predict Kinect is going to get a lot of advertisment.

You factor in

1) Kinect at a attractive price now IMHO at $150 since it comes with a game, when the presumption was it would be $150 without a game.

2) Arcade bundle with Kinect at $300

3) Arcade S launching in just a few weeks

4) Halo Reach, Fable 3 and a overall steallar holiday line up.

5) Agressive marketing by MS, and perhaps another return of the $100 arcade (after Wal-Mart gift card and such) come the holidays.

6) People looking to swap out their old 360's via "upgrading to the Slim", consdiering RROD there is still plenty of customers for MS to double dip in.

Sony still has Move and the launch of Gran Turismo as well as a equally solid third party offering, and there are still people who want to get a PS3 by this Christmas for the games and of course blu-ray player.

Though if Kinect ends up hitting it big and becomes the Christmas toy to get? MS could be looking at some rather huge sales that should recover the sales ground lost to Sony since their price cut slim revision.

It's just that simple.

its like you guys forgot that they price droped all the other models.....

but yea pretty good sales but will the last for long?who knows all I know is that they might pull one big card this Holiday(SONY)and that card is Gran Turismo 5 so yea....and Kevin Butler

The Wii has a 30 Million WW lead and this holiday season both MS and Sony are going to be pushing that Motion Controls are where its at, indirectly advertising the Wii as well and refocusing attention, after Wii interest seemed to be dropping a bit, on the Wii's unique selling point... I for one don't see the Wii as being out for the count.

Sony I think will struggle a bit more as in US and UK I think MS is going to simply outmarket them and push to have Kinect seen as a cool must get gadget for the holidays.  But, the PS3 is actually holding fine where it was and GT5, etc. will give a boost so worst case I guess Sony will just have to hold to their current path and let the gap widen again, at least for a while.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
