Forums - Nintendo - THQ readies 'very, very innovative' Wii game

Not really sure what they mean by 'rare' success on Wii, multiple publishers have two or more million selling games on Wii. We're not in 2007 anymore - Nintendo's stuff is absolutely dominant over 5m, but you can get to 3m occassionally, 2m frequently, and 1m quite often on Wii as a third party.

They are innovative sometimes though - MMA, wrestling - they basically created those. I could see them doing something interesting with sports or platformers on Wii.

So, it's either an RTS or that pad?

Well, im still waiting for a "Nintendo-quality" game from Ubisoft, so thats taking up my optimism for 3rd parties.

After that lousy "All Star Karate" game, they need to be very cautious about what they hype.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Maybe they can do something innovative with the marketing, such as allocating a budget for it.

Shame they released it and didn't really give a shit about it.

THQ hasn't really shown the right mindset to produce such a thing, but its possible.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm always open to new stuff.  I hope it's good.  I did like de Blob quite a bit and they published that game.
