Forums - Sales - Apple posts another quarter of record revenues

I thought I'd start a thread for all three people on this forum who care :

http://digitaldaily.allthingsd.com/20100720/apple-to-antenna-obsessed-investors-look-over-there-a-big-pile-of-money/

Select highlights from Q3:

- $15.7 billion revenue, up 61% YoY

- 8.4 million iPhones sold, up 61% YoY

- 9.41 million iPods sold, down 8% YoY. It's not clear how many of those were Touches, but Touch sales were 48% up YoY.

- 3.27 million iPads sold

- Over 100 million iOS devices sold to date.

- 3.47 million Macs sold, up 33% YoY

- Steve Jobs hints at "amazing new products still to come this year.” Could just mean iPod and Mac refreshes, but there are rumours that an iOS-based Apple TV focusing on streaming content rather than downloading content is in the works.

Pretty fantastic for Apple. They have good products and the iPhone 4 is very very tempting. I wouldn't personally consider any alternatives because for me its just that good.

Wow. Apple is huge these days and should stay so for some time at least.

There's apparently a good chance that Apple's revenues for the quarter will exceed those of Microsoft for the first time since the '80s. We'll find out on Thursday.

Microsoft will still have a comfortable lead in net income thanks to its huge profit margins, though.

its been confirmed today that GT5 has a weather system, track editor and go karts! seriously i think this is going to be the best selling in the series even beating GT3 sales of 14 million plus!

Shows that its more important to be a good orator than a good builder.

I have no love for Apple products, let alone their consumer and developer hostile policies and practices.

Not surprised. They're been seemingly doing better every year for the last decade. Plus they've got a rediculously huge warchest.

Those are huge numbers... Lets see if enough to Top Microsoft.

Apple are overhyped shit, there products are all inferior, but muppets are brainwashed to buy them because they are "shiny".
