Forums - Microsoft - With the 360 S being a huge success what is your new Kinect 1st week guess?

Well we now have seen numbers for the new 360S firsts weeks in all territories and it has been highly successful.  With the combination of a new Slim arcade model priced very cheaply as well as bundles which will include Kinect I'm curious what everyones new hardware predictions are for the week of Kinects launch.  Will it be bigger than the 360S first week in each territory?  Post your most realistic predictions here.

Edit:  and I really didn't even realize the thread title to this rhymed until after I posted. Lulz

Tough to say since the MS hype machine and advertising hasn't really kicked into gear yet, but with over 40 million current 360 owners only 1 out of every 40 would have to buy a Kinect to hit 1 million first week, and that's not even considering how many new casuals might buy a bundle.

I could see Kinect easily doing 1.5 million first week if advertising is done right.

My guess is 150,000 in week one, MC BenV.

That sounds like a pretty reasonable prediction for Kinect maybe a tad low.

Any predictions for 360 Hardware on Kinects launch week?

if this is priced correctly then it is goign to be enormous.    It has the main stream media hype on its side.

agreed and I think we may possibly see a bigger first week during Kinects launch than we are now due to a combination of Slim Arcade, Kinect Bundles, and the fact that it launches in November so numbers are going to be high anyways from people gearing up for the holidays.

3 million first day, 20 million week one.

This seems like a reasonable estimate, but costs and advertising has so much to do with it I think.

Going on a cost of $149 and the minimal advertising I've seen, I'd guess 600K-750K first week.  Until I hear the non-gamers I know talking about it, I'd guess it's going to have a hard time acheiving more than that.

I do agree though that if advertising and price are done right...

Haha, that's seems very reasonable.

Its hard to predict considering we don't know the final price or what will be bundled (if anything at all).

Ok I have no idea how many 360s will be available from Kinect launch to January. Or how many Kinects WW will be available to January.

My guess is the week Kinect launches 360's and Kinect will be sold out on every delivery through to January.

Guess?

360's sold first week of Kinect? = 800,000

Kinect on launch week? = 1.7 million.

read in wsj this morning that Microsoft is predicting 2m sales by january
