So what are we predicting here? 360 to outsell Wii for this year or 360 taking the crown for the whole gen?

i can't agree with selnor about blu-ray,the uk missing it altogether and no shelf space

i  use blu-ray alot unless its older films,i see plenty of shelf space and i bought a ps3 for the blu-ray player amongst other things

the PS3 has sold more in the uk than any other european country as far as i know

you have to be impressed with 360 sales in the uk,i was in town on friday and they were gobbling up the new 360s

It's more due to the Wii decline than an X360 boost.

According to the HW table for UK, Wii is some 180k down YoY, while X360 is almost flat, being up by 15k or so.

Why does the 360 doing well have to mean the Wii is doomed?? exactly ..

Sorry, it was the '360 becoming the console of choice' bit that got me plus I'd just read the 'PS3 having a better year than 360/Wii' thread. I couldn't contain myself.

I'd prefer to be called biggest Nintendo fanboy than most defensive Wii fan. I'm not defending Wii, I just think that 4 weeks is a bit early to start deciding what the most popular console is. Kinda sounds like doom. I'll still take it as a compliment though.

Well, I don't think anything is set in stone in terms of places this xmas. Next week is the slim launch though, and it's been a sellout, the 360 will outsell the Wii at least 2 months in a row .. that has to mean some sort of market shift?

I agree, I think 360 could outsell Wii for longer than 2 months this year. If it was holiday season and 360 outsold Wii for 2 months, I still think it would be too early to talk about market shifts. If Kinect does do well, I see it doing better Xmas '11 than '10.

I'm not doing any Xmas predictions until I know when Wii Party and the 3DS are being released.

Blu-Ray disc sales must really be struggling here.  The floorspace in highstreet shops hasn't increased for teh past couple of years and some supermarkets dont even have any for sale.

I wouldn't hold my breath for 3D either.  They advertised it during the world cup by showing a blurred image... bet that confused a lot of people.

Let's not mistake sports with Football shall we, we suck at football, and we all know it.

Germany's team in the work cup was outstanding and in my view should have won the whole thing, they showed not only promise but flair and determination while Spain was just get a goal and keep it type play with was boring and dull.

Our team is mad from old aging players, we haven't had the same new blood that Germany has had and we desperately need it, next World Cup and Euros I don't expect half our current team to be there, they are all aging and it is showing.

But then other sports, we are ranked top in the world in nearly every sport, just hardly ever the best in said sport.
