I ran past them because I always treat lava areas as time trials, pre-Varia.
I really liked the bit with the fish, though. THat part was great. I love me some Team Ninja.

Yeah, that part was fun. No doubt about it. Died once though (when you're running through the inital bridge area and he comes up through the bottom. Didn't see that coming, even with the slow down. )
Though it was in the Pyrosphere where the whole Adam-system really showed its flaws. I mean, you go through half the level without the Varia suit upgrade (which, as far as I know, doesn't seem to have the potential to harm any of your comrades if you had it equipped to begin with). Why does Adam let you suffer through half the level before granting its power to you? Why wouldn't he think this through?
"Okay, Samus is going into an area with extreme temperatures, she'll need the Varia suit to keep her safe (and make sure my mission has a higher percentage of success.) I should probaby give her the necessary tools to be as successful as possible."
But no, that doesn't happen, and I rolled my eyes every time I saw my health start to deplete. I was thoroughly annoyed.
I sort of understand not having something like the Super Missile and the Power Bomb, but the grappling beam? The double jump? Come on, this is just silly.
The "losing your tech through some unlucky encounter" theme might be cliched by now, but to me, it's easier to swallow than this Adam system.

This also annoys me! Like when you're in the cryosphere. You have to speed boost->jump up to the platform, shoot up into a morph ball maze, navigate the morph ball maze, drop onto another platform, shoot up into a second morph ball maze, navigate it, drop down into a booth with a switch in another booth opposite the one you're in seperated by bulletproof glass, figure out you can't do anything, slide back down the mountain to where you started, figure out you have to backtrack until you reach a room with a bunch of pirates firing through forcefields THEN Adam decides to allow use of the wave beam, then you have to go back outside do all that again until you reach the bulletproof glass, hit the switch and slide back down the mountain and backtrack to the room where he gave you the wave beam.
ARGGGGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!
