Forums - Nintendo - Did you play Eternal Darkness? Why or why not.

Great game, but I'm not specting something great again from SK, I think the reason ED was so great was because Nintendo funded it and delayed the thing for years, and Miyamoto bitched SK until they did it right... I don't think M$ will do that job, but I would be happy to be proved wrong.

Even when ED launched, it had Sub-par graphics, but the game was great! I enjoyed it.

You make a good point. Now you have me worried about the fate of Too Human. Esp. with all of the Unreal 3 Engine Problems they are having. Hopefully the time they spent with Nintendo and then the work they did with Konami will help them "perfect" their game. Also, this game is their long loved dream.

Never played it. Would be interested in seeing it as a wiimake cashin at a decent price (such as RE 4 was done). Someone should make a petition...

(or is there a place you can buy it new for under $20?)

I've thought the same thing but the game has it's roots in the N64 era... I am still impressed by it, the characters had high polygon counts, but you still could see its age now and then. The game had great voice acting through- out (which is Rare even now for a Nintendo Game). I am currently playing it and to tell you the truth if a new game was made with the same graphics on the Wii I would still play it. But heck I feel that way about the 1st and 2nd Zelda too.

It came out in 2002 so I'm sure on Amazon or a Pawn Shop or a Game Shop you can find a used copy.

Weird. I've never even heard of it =(

True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.

Jammer... =O

Even though I'd never heard of it before I got it, and it was an impulse buy xD I was lucky.

In many ways I agree with you. But at the same time it's attention to detail made me wish it wasn't a very, very suped up N64 Game. I've seen how the original was going to look and the way it looks now blows awy the way it used to look. Nevertheless it lacked free look- I wish that I cool just scan around the areas of the game like the Churches or the Room of the Black Guardian. The camera is great but I still wish I had free look like Zelda OoT or MP1.

It's on my to-do-list, especially since my roommate told me it was a fantastic game! On the other hand, I really don't enjoy playing "dark" or violent games... So I'm not yet fully motivated. But the "mind tricks" thing sounds great and innovative.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

I know what you mean. I don't either there is something about the title that let's me escape the "darkness" in it. But I won't explain it as it would be a big Spoiler. But what I can say is although I though Res EVil 4 looked great and played great, I did not get that far in it because I was overly creeped out about shooting the women town folk in the head. That and the Chain Saw fellow scared the crap out of me.

Give it a go at a cheap price if you don't like it sell it. The story sucked me in though and it probably will you. Also if you start to get freaked out by your characters insanity it is pretty easy to get it back, esp. when you learn how to your first spells.
