probably not - i will put a lot of blame on marketing as their marketing tends to suck.

So you think Marketing will be the reason and not the high entry price?

move cost half that of kinect.

move is overall a better technology for the application of games then kinect or the wii.

move has a vastly better library of announced games than kinect.

and yet, kinect will undoubtedly sell better.

nope, i fear move (like lbp, uncharted, GoW, infamous, killzone, ect.) will just not resonate with the audience because sony doesn't know how to sell themselves.  sony has soo many great games and products and no one seems to know it. :(

I'm not talking about exisitng owners though, I'm talking about new ones, that will go for the console and motion. So the 360 is cheaper in that regard ...

Debatable on the 2nd bit.

I think sony have finally got marketing in the bag personally!

well, i'm may be taking a leap here as the price of kinect isn't set in stone but...

ps3 move bundle is $399 (which includes: ps3, move, and 1 game)

360 slim is $300 $150 kinect 1 game =  around $500, around $400 with an arcade

move is only more expensive if you try saying all move owners have to go home with 4 controllers, but that's not the entry price.  really, both kinect and move are priced pretty damn high.

the second point is obviously subjective but in the case of kinect there is only casual crap announced.  for move there is casual crap and core crap.  at the very least sony is casting a wider net.  menu navigation isn't going to do crap to sell to the 10 million 360 owners who are in the halo/CoD crowd.

theres no $450 360 kenict bundle 399 is already set for the new slim plus kenict and i would assume $300 for the cheaper 360 slim and kenict its possible those prices could be 50$ less if 360 HW gets a 50$ cut but i dont see that happening this year

before you quote me seece yeah i know 2 yrs since last cut and all i can understand where your coming from and all but thats just my opinion no need to re quote me and explain it to me

Nah I won't explain it to you, I do want to know why you think there will be no price cut though?

The slim isn't 399 so that kills your arguement.

its been confirmed today that GT5 has a weather system, track editor and go karts! seriously i think this is going to be the best selling in the series even beating GT3 sales of 14 million plus!

I think he means 360 Kinect at $399. He's still wrong though, nothing like that's been confirmed.

Probably not. Many casual (as in, not dedicated to gaming) consumers will see the $400 price versus the $200 Wii, then see more games that support motion, and they'll side with the Wii. To say that NOBODY would get a PS3 for it would be folly, but I don't think the uptick will be that great, say, about a 5% increase over expected sales.

It could go even cheaper for a bundle tho.  Remember, they can remove the power brick since you are buying it bundled with the 360s (which has the Kinect port so no need for the external power)

It is a bundle, you are expected to use the item with the bundle.  Can easilty just sell powerbricks separately (like they do with the 360's)

Think of a 360S elite Kinect = less than the PS3 bundle (Say 399 vs 379 and 279)

In a word, no. I don't see Sony being able to market Move to people that have yet to buy a PS3 unless they drop the price of PS3 and bundle Move with PS3 for cheaper than current pricing. Even then I think it'll be a tough sell as it's not different enough from Wii and I think a lot of devs will simply tack on motion controls as an option rather than as a required control system.

PlayStation Move Console Bundle

#2,791 in Video Games

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Move-Console-Bundle-3/dp/B002I0K956/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1279227353&sr=1-7

I Know, amazon is not a reference, but #2,791, that's to much far away for a good sales.

I would take it even further and say that nobody outside diehard sony/ps3 fanboys and motion control fans (if these people really exist) will buy the PS move at first. If the library fills out and the price comes down other ps3 owners will jump on the bandwagon.

Noone is going to buy a ps3 just for move. $400 is a LOT when you can buy a Wii with WS/WSR for about half that.
