Do we really need a full fledged Final Fantasy XIII style FF VII remake?

how about a download-able version of the PS1 classic, not upscaled, but with new detailed backgrounds and character models and new quality cutscenes while leaving the gameplay and handling untouched.

or how about a HD FF collection with VII, VIII, and IX on one disk? would you buy?

Well I just finished the PSN version, so I would only buy if it was a proper remake, with VOs etc. but unchanged mechanics

Make the graphics similar to FFXIII, doesn't have to be AS good. (We want towns and a world map! )

CGI Cutscenes should look like Advent Children.

New, revised soundtrack.

Voice acting for every word said.

Same battle system as the original.

Every bit of content from the original, also in the Remake. Along with maybe a few added stuff. Missions and such. Maybe like the hunts from FFXIII.

Well considering. I think they should. I found FFVII to be great, but flawed. just like 13, only in different ways. imo

Rewrite the Dialogue. Fix the plotholes. Do voiceovers, with the cast from CC, AC.
Redo the battle systems.
Redo the graphics obviosly.
Make CG yuffie this time ;)
They'd also have to reimagine the towns as nothing is proportionally correct as 7.

I'd buy it either way as It's one of my favorite games ever. But if graphics aren't everything, the same game with pretty graphics is not an improved FF7 in most aspects, thus it's not that much better than the blocky one. imo

I don't see why loads of people think FFVII will be remade for the PS3.

I think it will be remade after V and VI for the 3DS and tbh I would prefer that than a PS3 remake

I have a question, will the sound not be aweful, on the 3DS like it is on the DS?
And why on 3DS. The CG's look much prettier on big tv's :D. Not saying ps3 remake IDC but wii2 remake or whatever. I want a FFVI remake too. probably equally as that of 7. Just not on handheld.

Though I'd rather, have another sequal to FFVII where Tifa gets married!, and well... a sequal to 9 cause it's so cute, and they could just do something stupid and it would be amazing!. Others don't need sequals :D

FF IVs sound awful?  I think it has arguably the best soundtrack of any game and the DS remake completely does it justice.

A full remake on home consoles would take far far longer, cost far far more and considering current gen S-E games on the DS compared to the PS3, I think it will be better suited to a portable.  

Matrix software has done wonders with FF III and IV DS, giving them FF V, VI and possibly VII to do for the 3DS could be the best next gen decision S-E will make.

Because everything Final Fantasy VII that has released on consoles or PC, has been on a PlayStation console.

Why would you prefer it on the 3DS?
