I used to have this problem on occassion (the "System Files Corrputed" message would appear. (A hard system reset usually would take care of the problem). Lol, hmm, well it hasn't happened again to my knowledge, but if it does, I'll tell him to disable that too. And apparently system resets weren't working

LOL, my brother vacuums out our Wii every once in a while, same with our Xbox and all of our PC's, makes them all MUCH quieter and cooler (the Wii is silent after, only has a little noise before).

The Wii is in an entertainment center because our mom makes us keep it in there because she thinks otherwise it would look "trashy" which only makes it worse -_- So maybe try a little vacuum action?


You really shouldn't use a vacuume on computers of any sort due to static electricity build up from the vacuum.

Use a compressed air can.


Are you afraid of it erasing the HDD? Idk, my dad is a real big tech guy and he first showed my brother XD

Sure you'll find sites where people say they do it all the time, but it makes perfect sense when you think about it. Vacuums create static electricity and that static electricity can destroy the components. I can of air is not expensive and does a really good job.

 

BTW: I'm a 10 year veteran of software engineering and been a pretty big computer geek for most of my life.

Yes, the static electricity is created at the nozzle by the moving particles being sucked into the hose.

I have gotten the corrupted files message at least 3 or 4 times. I turn my Wii off, and then back on. and then everything is running fine, no data loss.

Basically, that has been my experience.  Though the first time it happened, it was scary. I think it was caused by trying to do two things at once (move a menu and load a game).  Other times, there has been no real reason.

But it still wouldn't let me backup SBBB x_x 'bout to go set up the homebrew channel and back all that shit up. I've done everything except beat ever all--star mode and beat Boss Battles on Intense (FFUCKING TABUU. I got his health down to a sliver and dodged 2/3 of the 3 red rings then BAM i deied x_x)
