If you like turn-based battles, then you should be hyped. If not, then you should not.

If you've never played a game in a franchise before, it's probably best not to hype it. That said, Dragon Quest or Warrior or whatever! is a great franchise from what I've heard. But like all RPGs, they aren't for everyone.

I am hyped for this game. I'm in love with the series. DQIX is amazing so far. Dragon Quest is everything a JRPG should be and i'm glad it hasn't had any changes in the franchise. I agree though, it's not for everyone. If you enjoy traditional 1990's turn-based battles, with monsters and magic, then you should be very hyped.

i like RPGs, i like turn bases a lot, so i was kinda interested in it before, but now i'm pretty sure that i'm getting it. i've decided to get DQ IX like you guys suggested since it seems like it's gonna be really similar to DQX (like no random battles), but after i finish FE: Shadow Dragon first - lovin that one btw :)

im not very hyped yet. i need to see gameplay before i make that judgement. hopefully the game will have less turn-based action in it. i liked DQ8but it was a bit slow to me(as is a lot of turn-based games). im still thinking about getting DQ9.

As a Nintendo fan myself, I honestly don't see how anyone can be hyped for this game. Don't take that the wrong way I love DQ I'm just saying we know nothing about the game. Its like being hyped for you next game of blackjack. You don't know what you're going to get. But at the same time I'm very happy DQX is coming to Wii. That'll be a smack to the face to PS gamers right?

I am very hyped for this game, I'm playing DQ V right now and will get IX when it is released over here.  My DQ hype level has gone through the roof lately

Dragon Quest 8 is a very slow game, DQ4, 5, and 9 for DS are probably a better representation of the series.

Dragon Quest 5 is the best (up until I finish 9 and maybe have a new opinion); I like how you can get character commentary on every person, event, and location; and how it travels through the life of the character (from childhood, through teen years, and into the years where he has his own family).

They all seem the same on the surface, but once you play, you see a lot of differences.
