Forums - Nintendo - Iwata: 3DS Next step into NIntendo's Digital Distribution model

This man promise constant upgrades and constant info .... or something

"We are thinking the release of new hardware should be good timing for a dramatic improvement of this situation. In addition to the function of ‘3D graphics without 3D glasses,’ Nintendo 3DS will have enhanced wireless communication function. Nintendo 3DS will receive various pieces of information automatically if there is a chance of communication while a user carries it even when he or she does not try to start communication proactively by unfolding Nintendo 3DS. By combining Nintendo 3DS with such function, we are now planning to expand our digital-distribution type of business." - Satoru Iwata

I was kind of anticipating that the DSi was a "Beta-Test" (for lack of a better term) for the most basic functionality of a system they would expand with their next handheld and home consoles.

I hope he doesn't mean that Nintendo is planning on going all in DD in the future :(

I LOVE ICELAND!

Sony copies motion controls and Nintendo's copying PSP GO.

I'm not at all an expert in this field, and a question just popped into my head while reading this.

Couldn't it be dangerous if it's possible for your DS to download these random connections without your approaval? What I mean is, is it possible for someone other than Nintendo to access your DS?

it'll happen in the future. But probably Nintendo will jump on it just when the time of downloads is massively decreased and you can have very big HDDs on their consoles. So no 3DS or 4DS for sure.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

It sounds a lot like WiiConnect24, though. And that really didn't go anywhere meaningful.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Eh, PSP Go doesn't do anything like this?

Digital Distribution

The DSi copied the PSP Go?

People take all this copying stuff way too seriously.
