for some time now, my ps3 biggest problem have been the power buttom, sometimes it because unresponsive and only way to turn it on was using the "eject" buttom...

now somehow it gets stuck, not letting the ps3 turn on, i mean it turns on but it turn off after a second... like its stuck... but i manage to press eject fast enough it turn on... its working for now.. its a pain to get the machine on. thankfully it runs fine after setting it on... i know its the button cuz it reset my setting... u have to press the buttom like 10s for that--- all info hdd its ok and its not overhearting.

i read someone i can open it and fix it anyone have a similar problem?  i had a first batch 40gb ps3.

ps3 slim real buttom was a  great idea.... from lg chocolate, samsung lcd, i come to hate touch sensitive buttoms.

I hate touch sensitive buttoms too. I prefer the ones you can touch without getting slapped.

i don't think i've ever used the power button on the ps3 to turn it on/off lol. but i like touch sensitive just for show lol. so fancy

instead of opening up the ps3, you can just use your controller...

You do know that if you hold the ps button on the controller for a while a menu comes up and one of the options it gives you is to turn off the system....right?

When the system is on standby, if you press the PS button on the controller, the system turns on.

My biggest problem with my ps3 is the power cord. It will not stay in!!!! Is this a widespread problem? Or should I return it to sony before my warranty is up? Btw my system is the fat 80 gb.
