Atheists please the bonghitler.

I was grown up christian, but one morning woke up, connected my brain and found out that beliefs, religion is just a big pile of shit. My biggest concern is baptism, you force somebody to get a religion at birth (yeah when you're fully aware), or before to kill someone (muslim tradition), or better, by converting to your religion after their death (moron-ic).

I don't care people believing in whatever. I care when they want to force their views and traditions to other people. Which tend to happen too much these days. What drives me mad is when fundamentalists and other retards are trying to influence politics.

Edit : Ha, a good quote from the comments on the link of OP : 'Everyone is born as an atheist' /end threads

This sucks, I can sum it up in 3 words...Evolution IS A LIE! A world ruled by Atheist would be a horrible world like this video describes:

From European Values statistics 2008: http://ec.europa.eu/public_opinion/archives/eb/eb69/eb69_values_en.pdf

"It should also be noted that 27% of respondents in Cyprus, 26% in Malta and 19% in Romania mentioned religion as one of the most important values for them personally, compared with 7% on average for the European Union."

Religion simply isn't widely encouraged in Europe. As sad as it is for it to be the last one standing, as far as Christianity goes, the Roman Catholic church will probably last the longest in terms of any real influence, and they've been working hard on alienating people as of lately.

''Love'' ''Peace'' ''Freedom'' ''Justice''...  I think you'll find that religion STANDS UP for all those things

Yes I'm quite sure all the persecuted gays agree with you on that one. To be fair, most religious books are a pick and mix affair with violence and peace, hate and love and so on...

its great that you judge religion based on some fanatics and that you take the stories from bible too literally ( the ones from old testament, which is btw irrelevant to most christians), nice job

Meh, atheists still are (and always will be) a very small minority in the world. Theres always gonna be a lot more relgious people than atheist people, and that puts smile on my face :)

You are aware that there are countries in Europe, where atheist are actually the majority right?

not a single one, except Estonia

For scientific purposes belief in some spiritual force might, in some people, come close to a belief similar to one of the religious ones.

However, from an organized religion standpoint, those people don't believe in one of the religions' gods, or at least not in a way that the respective church requires. Basically, from a church point of view, they are heretics or pagans.

In a social or personal aspect their values do not necessarily overlap with those of a certain religion and they might not accept to share a point of view taught by that church. Which btw can be the case for many who do condier themselves believers and belonging to a church, know a few basic things, go light a candle sometime, get married in a church etc but don't otherwise have any interest in the actual teachings of that church.

but they are not atheist either, since the believe in greater force or spirit, and church has no right to tell people what to believe in. Just because they dont believe in what church says, doesnt always means they dont believe in God or in higher power

Because debate, satire and the written word is "forcing" a view.

uh, did i say that anyone here forced his/hers view on anyone???  I've seen people insulting other people's beliefs though ( mostly christian beliefs, but of course, no one is gonna get banned for that, because most of mods dont share chrisitan beliefs, but try saying gay marrige is big pile of shit and see what heppens then). So please dont put words in my mouth
