Forums - Sales - Next Earnings Release (April-June) Timing for Game Publishers / Big 3

The next set of earnings releases - covering the three months ending June 2010 - is coming up shortly. By the end of July we'll have new shipment info / projections / release dates. While most companies end their year in March, Microsoft's ends in June.

April-June Results: Timing (to be updated)

Microsoft - July 22 (note Microsoft's year ends June 30 - so we may get Kinect projections for the next year)

Ubisoft - Preliminary Results on front page, Final Data Coming July 22

Capcom - July 29

Nintendo - July 29

Sony - July 29

Sega-Sammy - July 30

Square Enix - "Early August"

Electronic Arts - August 3

Konami, Activsion - August 5

THQ - August 9

Namco-Bandai and others haven't announced their timing yet.

I'll be updating this thread with information on the timing as I find it, and a look at possible revisions.

Capcom for instance (page 19):

Lost Planet 2 Projection for March 2011 FY = 2.2m ....current sales are less than 800,000 and only 25,000 per week. The game will need another quarter just to clear 1m. Can't see it getting much past that. So a downward revision is likely.

Dead Rising 2 was projected to hit 3m for the March 2011 year - probably should be revised downward as well.

Good stuff, very number orientated month what with 2 NPD's and Financials!

Are you going to do some predictions for us?

Thanks for the heads up! This is Microsofts end of year, so that makes it the morst important earnings release out of all that are coming up.

Tease.

Hopefully that might result in stock prices rebounding.

I don't think anything will result in that happening in the short term, sorry. I suspect in the medium term the market is taking a wait and see approach to how well recieved Windows Mobile 7 is recieved. People are looking for growth from Microsoft at this point, indication that they can sustain their profitability over the next 5-10 years.

lol Capcom.  So screwed!

At least MH3 and SSF4 seem to be doing well for them.

Less than half their projected total for Lost Planet 2?

That's goign to be painful.

Yeah, and this time they can't just lay the blame at western developers... it's looking like Bionic Commando and Dark Void weren't the exceptions, they're really the new rule.

DR2 is going to mega-bomb too.  I do think MVC3 will do well though.

What would qualify as a "mega-bomb" for Dead Rising? 3 million does seem high, I admit, but it should be able to get numbers only a little lower than the original... right?

I would say under a million this year is "mega-bomb" for a production like DR2.  And honestly, sales on those level wouldn't surprise me.
