Famitsu 2010 first half (28/12/09-27/06/10)

Hardware
NDS: 1.390.176 / 30.550.765
PSP: 1.243.802 / 14.630.257
WII: 934.010 / 10.436.009
PS3: 827.906 / 5.219.313
360: 103.481 / 1.301.354

What the heck does this mean?  Are those sales for all of 2010?

Yes...why?

Here are the VGchartz numbers:

DS: 1,304,709

PSP: 1,213,025

Wii: 933,129

PS3: 827,398

360: 88,554

Seems rather accurate. This week numbers are not in the database yet though so that means the 360 will do 10k-15k this week (Monster Hunter and price drop).

Yeah 360 S releases this week too, MHF has a pretty decent sell through, can it top 100k?

LMAO

if you see the shiptment is just under 100k

and JAPAN seels most of its software on day 1

lol.  No Monster Hunter game has sold over 50% 1st day, ever.  Not only is 100k guaranteed, I'd say 150k is likely...

no monster hunter game may have sold over 50% but you are not thinking that even those below-50% were above these 360 game totals

and you didn't understand what my post meant,150K just isn't possible as you should see that SHipments for the titles are just under 100k as 65k 360 titles sales has already sold 65.5% OF THE SHIPMENT COPIES

I wasn't aware we were talking 1st week, I was talking lifetime.  Using MHG Wii as a metric, it also sold 65k 1st day, then went on to sell 250k lifetime.  That bodes well for MHFO.

1st week shipments generally include a 2nd weekend shipment too btw, if the game warrants it.  Just because 1st shipment wasn't over 100k, doesn't mean 1st week can't be...

yeah a weekend shipment comes in but not when the title only perform 65k,it will do 80k max first week so no need for shipment

Possible, but again using MHG Wii, it went on to sell 140k 1st week then...

Wii is japanese too and from nintendo

we know how 360 is hated there and how games sell on it

Well, speaking of 360, most of it's better selling games (Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon, Ace Combat 6, etc) actually sold under 50% first week, much less first day.

You should probably do a little more research next time. ;)

YEAH that time those brand were not that big

if monster hunter,FF,MGS,YAKUZA,etc come then sales happen first say and then low sales for the rest of first week

And you have Japanese 360 FF, MGS and Yakuza sales to compare to?  lololol!

if they don't perform well on 360 in the whole period they won't do any good after first week

i am just showing how big games perform

There have been various bundels for Ace Combat 6 (including a Namco one), and I believe that Blue Dragon and Tales of Vesperia initially did also have bundles, so that kinda explains why those title did have better legs than some of the other title's.

Lol whoops didn't look at the dates...But that means the 360 did ok this week (about 10k)

Possibly, though games that also had hardware bundles (like RE5) sold over the 50% threshold 1st week.  Also, hardware bundles tend to be limited supply and launched with the games, if anything they'd logically weight sales towards 1st week rather than against it for some of those games (BD, Tales).

famitsu and vg's numbers are close besides 360 were vg is very low. i think they undertrack it. every time famitsu and media create puts there numbers up VGchartz is ALWAYS lower.
