Forums - Sales - question for everyone that owns a ps3 and xbox360.

married; just a wii

wouldn't have time for the 'hardcore' games on 360/ps3, nor would i spend the money on that when there are so many other things i could spend it on

wii at least i can play with my wife and i can pick up and play most wii games for 10-15 mins when i have some time and then not play it again for awhile...no time to even beat the zeldas/metroids these days

Bets:Missed by 420k I bet leo-j vg$500 that wii will sell 31 million by 7/31/08.  Sorry, I don't think he has enough vg$ to make it with all of u that wish you could. Hit, with room to spare I bet kingofwale a 1-week ban that wii Americas ltd sales>360 Americas ltd sales as of the numbers for week ending 7/05/08 (using vgchartz homepage #s)

Predictions:

Wii will sell 18-20mil by 12/31/07  CHECKWii will sell 45mil+ WW by 12/31/08Wii will surpass PS2 sales WW by 11/17/11 (5yr anniversary)Wii Fit will hit 12mil sales in 2009MKWii+SSBB+Wii Fit+SMG > 50 mil sales by 2010 > gta4+mgs+gt5+ff13+haze+lbp

My God, it never ends. Fanboy posts claiming that owners of both non-Wii consoles must be rich arrogant bastards. By the way, I live with my parents but I'm paying off my student loans (which exceed those of most people, had to get 2 degrees, first degree direction (Psychology) was underpaid without PhD). I do own both but I also pay for my own clothes, food, cellphone, car, you name it I pay for it. The only thing I don't pay is rent because my parents are not Nazis.

So you're implying that $800-$1000 is so expensive that you have to live at home with your parents to afford it?

no just that i am married with 2 kids and one on the way and the wya the housing market is right now and everything else spending 800-1000 isnt feasable and not worth spending that on a machine to play videogames. besides my house payment costs less then 900. i just wanna know where everyone stands that owns either of those two machines.

If money is that tight for you how can you afford to have another child?

Budgeting. I have two children and they are our priorities. I got my Wii, HD DVD players and other goodies by profits from my small iPod biz. Otherwise, I could still do it, but you have to take money from other spots.

Yeah, he could do it - the PS3 and 360 aren't recurring expenses, but milk money and Pampers are.

Not married (though will be somewhat soon) but I have a PS3, 360, and a Wii and I even pay my own bills (of course the PS3 was free).

 Congrats on the coming wedding!

On Topic:  I have a 360 and a Wii.  I also have between 12 and 18 games for each one.  And I also have a DS and PSP, with 10-15 games each.  (I'm not somewhere where I can count the games and give you an exact number).

I am married, have a 2 year old, a baby due to be born this month, and own a house.  Oh, and my wife stays at home.

Congrats. My wife stays at home too. I have like 21 Wii titles and 57 360 titles and 2 PS3 titles. At this point, I have more 360 games than my 40-something Xbox games. I have been a gamer since the late 70s and have a passion for video games. My wife isn't happy with it, but she loves Rock Band and WiiSports, and Donkey Konga.

I'm pretty sure the original implication was that 360/PS3 owners are young teens who still live with their parents.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

this is exactly what we are doing i did not say anything bout working at mcdonalds at all. i work in a factory making good money and yes it may be tight but there are things like tax breaks that help to afford kids. if everyone is getting mad at my question take a look at the answers. i was curious if what i actually thought was the norm of the guys i work with was the same with everyone else even on this site is true and guess what if u read the posts u see a trend here from what i asked.

@ckmlb  yes u are right hat was why i asked the question not to ruffle the fanboys feathers. but apparently alot cant just answer the question without throwing out "ur just a wii fanboy go way" rant.

one last thing i own a pc which needs upgrading and usually the time i get my stuff is usually at tax time. i have no need for an hdtv cause my tv's i own now r just fine. so no need for any high def movie player either. now if u are one of the guys that are like im offended by that question then go back and read all the answers. you will find that most wii owners are usually married with kids which take time and money on the other  hand u have the ones that are not im sorry to imply the whole basement thing but after several months of reading all these "wii bashing" posts by opposing fanboys a guy/gal can get irritated and come to conclusions easily by the way they act towards everyone. just to let everyone here know i have played both the 360 and ps3 before i made my decision on the wii.

the reasons for buying it was these reasons

1. 250 dollars not 400+ for the good models either.

2. pack in game - that helps cause u dont have to spend the extra 50-120 dollars for extra games right away.

3. controls. - easy to pick u[ and play and my kids can even learn easily how to play.

so thats it

hawk and madskills grats and i thikn u guys understand what im trying to get others to understand that there are alot of different demographics to each system and dependng on the lifestyle is also the indication of sales of each console. this topic wasnt to degrade anyone just to get a point out there to look at urself and where you are at in life and that there is much much much more then just consoles and videogames.

how many of you are married wiht more then one kid? or are most live at home not married with no bills? the few guys i know that has a 360 and ps3 has no bills and still live at home with mommy and daddy.

Not everyone works at McDonalds like you my friend.  You don't have to be the world's richest man to own both.

but u have to have a spare 1000 at least to have both laying around. and if i was a worker at mcd's i wouldnt have a way to feed my kids, pay my bills and have my house. but what i said is true i have a few cousins that are dsoin exactly what i said. im just seeing who is close to being like them or actually has lives outside of these forums and consols
