And you also seem to be forgetting that when the PS3 Slim was released the 360 also got a price-cut which would account for the increase in sales. On the 360 S release there was no such price-cut for the PS3 so argument = pointless!

Well, Xbox 360 had a marvelous week with the release of Xbox 360 S. You said they didn't cut the price for Xbox 360 but they did for the older models, right? I know that's not like PS3 price cut last year, but still it's a factor (I would imagine) for some buyers of Xbox 360. The thing I would like to know is actually the software, what happened to software of both (PS3 and Xbox 360) when the new model released? Where I can find it?

 

Anyway, this holiday will be huge for Microsoft!

In the PS3 slims first week PS3 sold 320,842 and the 360 sold  132,526 that week, a difference of 188,316.In the first month the PS3 sold 1,104,833 the 360 sold 558,478 that month a difference 546,355. This list is supposed to be used as a comparison at the end of the month to compare PS3 slim numbers to 360 slim numbers. NOTE the 360 recieved  a price cut when the PS3 slim was launched and at the 360S's launch no PS3 price cut has been announced.

Gamestop sold a week early on and offline. Bestbuy also broke the Sept 1st by a week. 

The official release was without a doubt Sept 1st. But it clearly isnt what happened at US biggest game selling retailers. BUD.

Not in reference to this. I meant as in a whole. Most people only use America #s when comparing PS3/360 sales.

I have noticed that IGN and Kotaku actually do this quite a bit.

Um M$ dropped the Elite price only to $299. The Arcade stayed the same. Not exactly the same thing buddy.
