Well Gamestop gave Grand Turismo 5 the best graphics awards .... Kirby only got the best Wii game award, best plataform and Game of the Show Award.....

There is no point in looking at 'best graphics' from a technical view because it would be the same game every year.

2007 - Crysis

2008 - Crysis Warhead

2009 - still Crysis Warhead

2010 - Crysis 2

subjective I mean what if my gauge of quality was the originality and artistic merit of the graphics and I was a proud supporter of 2D graphics and sprites? which games would be of higher quality. And if my metric was the the game with the highest quality platforming again Kirby wins. If you meant better production values that is debatable as well, so is most fun to play.

Quality could mean anything so it would have been better if you said what you meant by quality, if you meant most cinematic or highest budget or that you would have more fun with the non kirby games then no one could twist what you said they would still probably argue with you but what ever...

OT: I can definitely agree with their choice. In terms of artistic innovation, it takes the show easily.

Its just a  misused definition. Graphics are measurable things. Whereas Art Style is subjective. A lot of people mix both words together. Whereas I can see the appeal of Kirby and I can understand why people think it deserves some credit. I think its the wrong category. I dont think that Guerilla Games or Cytek is pissed because of that. Awards are overrate by the public the real credit for work is sold units. Thats the best Award of all. They probably crowned kirby to get more attention or to show we are not shallow we judge a game because of his Art. And people think probably similar.

Graphics are measurable ofcourse there is a grey area where Graphics clash together with Art Style. Thats why we need a clear definition. People who think it doesnt deserve the award just define graphics differently then the people who think it deserves the award (which probably think the others are superficial). Its just that everyone interprets the word differently. Some have a technical interpretation and some an Artistic one. Thats why those interpretations should be separated to avoid senseless discussions.

yeah well I didn't see any texture pops or draw distance issues in Kirby, no technical problems on the graphics, winner. That's what happens when you get technical I guess.

i was disappointed at how Kirby looked, its unique yes but its not the same as before! (the cute blob and colorful background)

instead now its just colorful wires , i would liked if they made that style for a new IP instead of Kirby.

nevermind its starting to grow on me, its really beautiful.

though GT did this for the Views and nothing else, its obvious from the tone of his voice....
