as for the comment look at Heavy rain it only had 100k pre orders its at 1.4m WW after about 4 months

also other games like U2 had under 200k preorders look at it now

same with RDR ps3 was at under 200k preorders and after 4 weeks its a 1.4m WW

socom 4 will be very different than other socom games in the past as far as what is offered to the gamer gameplay wise and campaign wise move support wont hurt it either

all i was tiring to say is how does max payne 3 with no new real game info and any release date time frame have higher preorders than a high selling franchise like gears even with gears's release date set? most of the impressions for maxpayne 3 have all been negative they dont like the new look and the location

That's true, but all those had more than 10k pre orders, plus they all had something:

- HR looks great and appeals to old school people that like point and click adventure games

- U2 96 metacritic best looking game on consoles so far, 'nuff said

- RDR is GTAIV done right

- SOCOM IV is getting backlashed from the hardcore SOCOM community because of all these changes and to the newcomers, it'll get lost in the Halo Reach/Call of Duty/Medal of Honor shooters this Fall. I also don't think it'll score high on meta, about 80 sounds right to me.

I think Halo Reach should be compared to many games pre-order wise. Most obviously Halo 3, and I wouldn't mind seeing Medal of Honour and Gran Turismo (being the big PS3 exclusive) compared too.

As for GT, we didn't know a release date until a week ago, give it some time, now that there is a reasonable release date, people will pre-order more.

Two big observations I am making, I beleive Halo 3 had a little over a million pre-orders (not sure exactly how many more), and Reach is looking to get at least 1.5 million pre-orders if not more. So it could (and I beleive it will), outsell Halo 3.

My other observation is these are American Pre-orders, 75% of Halo games sales are in the Americas, where Call of Duty is more international (however still dominant in Americas).

and lol about the people beleiving GT5 will outsell Reach.

I think it's important to compare Halo Reach to Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2 the most, since they will most likely be the 3 best selling games for the HD consoles (Not just 360) this generation.

Pre orders numbers don't go that far back, we don't have any numbers of where pre orders were for Halo 3 when it launched.

I am very disappointed in that, I hope legs will help it.
