Son? And what are you talking about, hmm... dad? BTW.. what I meant is that they're comparing PSP with 360, when every ps fan does not do that when DS vs PS2 total numbers is mentioned. Simple logic thing, you know. |
'son' is more or less like a figure of speech like 'dude' if you get what I mean, I'm sure he meant no disrespect
anywho it's a comparision between a console that is getting bashed left and right as being dead yada yada vs. the rest of the consoles....and yes to compare life time sales of a handheld to a console is still lame and wrong, it was last gen and it is this gen, different markets different price schemes etc..

People compare PSP with 360 because it supposed to be "dead", and dead console can't beat anybody in term of sales
Still.. ioi and Vgcharts treat the consoles and the handhelds as two different markets as I pointed out so, it's not "ps fans" problem ... it's sombody's else, that's for sure, son ;p
Besides, I've mostly seen PSP lagging way behind everything else, including 360. I was just a bit surprised to see it so close. But you're right, it's not right to compare them directly.
those numbers are pretty ugly in the US... the lull before the storm or people hoping for a price cut?
I think that Microsoft mad a mistake with announcing the new Xbox right before the summer, isn't that supposed to be the worst season for sales? Wouldn't it be better to wait for either some huge title release (Halo Reach) or Kinect launch and unveil it at that time for more impact? This way they'll sell some more units for a month or less and than drop to the old numbers, since they have nothing to keep the momentum.
MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

MS is still learning how this market works, they saw that a regular stream of HW and SW novelties apparently helped PS3 to build momentum and keep it for a lot more than expected by hateboys, and now they try to repeat this success. Maybe it's also matter of pissed off shareholders, so they released the slim asap to lower costs and increase profit margins (despite selling at a profit, XB360 is still very far from recovering initial investments, and then there are the $4billion lost by XB1 and the billion or more for RRoD, that isn't accounted for in entertainment division losses but in a special balance sheet item, "Corporate level activity", that includes also lawsuits, R&D costs of whatever can or could be used by many divisions and whatever losses they could put there).
