These days on consoles, you do this in any genre. Heck, i've done it in FPS's and fighters.

Well... The next 2 console Final Fantasy games aren't on the 360. XIV and Versus XIII. Makes you wonder really if the 360 will get XV. If it releases this gen...

I'll probably end up buying both versions, so I can play on campus and at home on different platforms.

XIV would be on 360 already if not for Microsoft's draconian Live requirements.  Versus will probably end up on 360 anyway, though it's really a glorified spinoff.  I don't really see much to indicate XV missing 360 if it's made on current gen consoles?

If V13 is a spinoff of 13, then all the games set on planet Earth are spinoffs of eachother.

If Versus XIII were called XV, it wouldn't be a spinoff.  Or do you also consider Vagrant Story and FF Tactics to be mainline FF games?
