I dunno if there really is one standard?  They seem pretty evenly split to me?

Sony didn't introduce the first analog joystick?!  The first one was invented by Baer in 1967.

If I made a mistake, I'm sorry, but thank's for the info because it still proves my point. I think I was meant to say first dual analog joystick, but I was typing so quickly that I missed it.

That could be true for consoles actually.  Vectrex has the first analog stick on consoles iirc, but it was just one.  Dual stick setups had been largely the realm of arcades and PCs for the most part.

Your to smart. Honestly, you have an intelligent answer for everything and it's kinda making me jealous...

Thank's for the info and I hope what I wrote to that other guy earlier made enough sense to get the point across to anyone who was reading.

Yeah and all of those companies that u has mentioned so far are all full of money cuz they made everything right...

My point here is "Nintendo made it right" about the side scrolling , lets face it , how many people played that game ? And still proves my point , who made Side scrolling good ? Nintendo made !

Dont try to argue. -Edit here> Nintendo Always put everything to the masses (when they are good to go to players hand)

Now about sony making 2 analog sticks standard , i wonder if it was a standard why my Wii mote does not use it ? Why the 3DS have 1 analog sticks ? also 4 shlouder buttons its not a standard Wii mote does not have it , PSP/DS does not have it, now lets see how many game controllers has a D-PAD ...

ok, its fair to say that nintendo pretty much built the way gamepads are today bcuz they did it so right on the snes and the 64

but sony really took some of Nintendo ideas and made one of the best controller. Still this is a big achievements that we cant deny.

even tho sony is copyin the wiimote now, they still had some great ideas back then

like psx able to play cd music and the ps2 to play dvd

Nintendo made me a gamer so I'd be stupid to ever try to forget that                                             like so many people nowadays

The Top  Best Consoles Are SNES and PSX

Currently Playing: 1.Monster Hunter tri 2.MegaMan 10

Well that's why I wrote "somehow" in my post and I didn't consider handhelds because that's a totally different thing IMO. But you're right overall.

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

Oh? I'm sorry. All I heard was:

"I work for a different company, and therefore I am payed to point out any possible flaw in my competitors product"

Business as usual.

Yeah.  Nintendo tends not to "invent" so much as "innovate".  They often get miscredited with inventing technologies because they're actually the source for popularization and standardization of said technologies.  They are pretty progressive applicators though, and they don't implement technology unless it makes sense from a game perspective (which puts them apart from most console makers, who tend to have a technology first ethos).

True. Ninty has three great strong points about tech:

- An ability greater than average to find the right moment when a new tech reaches usability and affordability for the mainstream market

- Like Apple, adding excellent ergonomics to the new techs they adopt (and in Wii's case, adding a nice design too, like Apple)

- Developing from the start good games that benefit from the new techs and make gamers appreciate them
