Kevin Butler's timeslot wouldn't have been used to show The Last Guardian. If they could show their biggest fan-service exclusive, it would take priority over everything else. The time would have been used to show Tron Evolution or EA Active 2 or some crap.

Second thread today you said that. I think people understand what you think of him by now. Won't change anyone else's opinion of him though.
That speech was pandering and a flagrant appeal to us vs. them mentalities.
The whole "we are gamer, hear us roar" thing needs to die.
I can't believe anyone remembered that speech after the conference. It went through my ears, then in the dark corners of my brains to never resurface.
He was reading a script guys. And they could have showed more games (or commercials I guess).
