Forums - Nintendo - Platformers heaven= the Wii

Super Mario Bros 1, Lost Levels, 2, 3,Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Mario64, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Sonic The Hedgeog 1,2,3,4 episode1, &Knuckles, Donkey Kong Country 1,2,3, Returns, and still there are more coming like Epic Mickey, Kirby Epic Yarn, Lost In Shadows, Super Meat Boy...

I've just realised that with the actual lineup and the upcoming games, Wii is committed to become (or it is already?) the best console of all times for platform gaming. I there isn't and never was a console with as many great platformers avaliable for purchase as the Wii on discs, Virtual Console, Wiiware. Even with all the problems we know the Wii has, this is a great achievment.

Rayman Origins too, as far as I've heard.

EDIT: My bad. Rayman on Wii is not confirmed yet, just rumored by some websites, it seems.

Sonic Colours looks like a decent 3D sonic aswell.

One of my favorite genres. So I am happy it is the heaven for it.

Yup.

Only the Banjo (and not just the old ones, Nuts and Bolts is amazing too) series is lacking in that list.

It's one of the reasons why I love the Wii so much. Platformers are my bread and butter, my video game niche. They're what I love the most, from the first time I picked up Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to the here and now playing Super Mario Galaxy 2. And yeah, the Wii is where you want to be if you want a plethora of fantastic Platformers at your fingertips.

I myself can't wait for Lost in Shadow, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Sonic Colors, Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and hopefully Rayman Origins. It's all too good to be true. :3
