I do think Sony needs to bring out a true successor to the PSP not just a refresh.

I also think Sony should stick to targeting the high-end portable gaming market and not try to take on the iPhone.

There have been lots of rumours about a high-end PSP2 in the works since Jan of last year. Many have been asking for 2 analogue sticks and based on the positive things I have read about the 3DS analogue stick I think Sony need to copy/refine on it.

Although the PSP doesn't sell quite well, it is definitly profitable, so... no... they shouldn't discontinue it.

PSP weekly sales worldwide are the same as 360 sales, sometimes even better.

Plus, last time I checked MGS5, GT and GoW games were on PSP, not on DS.

just a minor point, baring being 3D, nothing is known of MGS 3d, for all you know it could be a spin-off game.

Yes.... to make Psp2 =D

But the 3ds has mgs, doa, ninja gaiden, super street fighter, saints row, and so many more awesome games  coming to, it beyond makes the psp look pretty pointless. I have a psp and am enjoying peace walker. I am getting gow but after that I may just sell it to get the 3ds.

What the hell happened to Resident Evil PSP??

Well before anything gets discontinued, Xbox360 should get discontinued in Japan first.  I wonder how the new slim 360 will sell in Japan?

I feel like they shouldn't focus on psp2. Keep PSP alive for as long as possible. 

Personally I think they should pool resources on owning the console market again, and rebuild the brand that might have been destroyed.

The only problem I can see with not having a handheld is losing market share for the brand in Japan. 

PSP has great games too, GoW, MGS games, LBP, Motorstorm, Patapon, LocoRoco,Mod Nation, Final Fantasy Tactics and Dissidia, Disgaea, Jeanne D'Arc...

PSP has more games that I like than DS actually...
