PSP2 looks bleak to me. And I'm not much of a Nintendo lover myself. So I'm all open arms to 3DS!!! Just don't put on a high god damn price tag on it.

199,99 < i Sure that this is the price , and bu the time the Wii will be 149,99 and the DSXL 129,99 the DS-i 99,99 that what i forecast , and for me 3DS will feature AAA games with a price tag of 29,99.

GO PATS! 2012 THE YEAR OF NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS'S 4TH SUPER BOWL!

A patriot to the end. GO PATS!

Oh God i just realised that if devs apply the same strategy they used on the DS -> 3DS (missed the boat at first but make up for it on the next system), Wii's successor is gonna have some serious support!

Now i'm pumped xD

maybe or maybe not..the big problem the Wii is not the DS esp. the 3DS. what make's the 3DS support by 3RD parties is mainly because it is the First 3D handheld for the mass market as a dedicated 3D handheld game machine. the Wii is not set for that. because there is not a 3D screen that come's with the Wii. and if it did it would cost quite a bit. even the next Wii if it did come with a dedicated 3D screen it's going to be still expensive.

the Game console's are not the same as the Handheld market.

This is true.

I just meant that maybe developers saw that they lost a huge opportunity with the DS and now are making up for it on the 3DS and that the same logic could apply to the Wii. That is of course assuming that they aren't supporting it because of 3D but because they think it will be the market leader following DS's success. Same thing can apply to Wii.

BTW (that might be a bit off-topic) Nintendo didn't announce any sort of online connection besides WiFi. At developers roundtable they said they don't plan any 3G incorporated at the moment, but might try it in the future. Iwata few months ago was quoted to say he interested in Kindle-type of 3G free service. What happened? Why no 3G, and no attention to DSWare at all? I personally thought, they'll announce smth on that matter. In fact, I found those features quite important for upcoming handheld.

Pretty much, and this is more or less what I'm expecting.  Especially out of Japan, though I dunno if the pre-launch wave will be quite this dramatic.  Western support will probably be better than 3DS even though.

3rd parties definitely understand that they missed the boat on Wii by betting the farm on PS360, I doubt they'll be making the same sort of mistake next cycle.  Plus Wii's successor will probably be an attractive home for quick "Director's Cut" or "Wii Edition" versions and remixes of big PS360 games early on (RE5, etc).

3G/whisper was probably cost prohibitive for a sub $200 handheld this year.  Plus they'd need to work out plans with network providers, which would be tougher for a new platform you're rtying really hard to keep under wraps.  I expect we'll get a "3GDS" in 2012 or something, and no it won't be a phone.

As for 3DSWare, it's undoubtedly coming.  I just hope a Virtual Game Boy is as well. :(

that's a very good question: is it because of 3D or market leadership.

a) the DS get's many 3rd party support already because of it's strong market leadership

b) the DS is now getting 3D support which add's more functionality

c) the DS has more robust network suppoert than even the Wii!

Now let's take  a look at the Wii

a) the Wii get's many 3rd party support , but lessr big franchises..why?

b) is it because

1. 3rd party's software cannot do well on the Wii

2. 3rd party's choose to ignore the Wii in favor of loosing money

3. 3rd party's look at the PS3 and the xbox360 having the much stronger online presence?

I think it's a combination of the three with the robust online structure being the big problem.

not to say the Wii's online is not good or anything, but Sony's and Microsoft's are seen by many as overall better. than Nintendo's look for that to change.

i would disagree with that about betting the farm on the PS360 because there is also the PC. many multi-platform game's are also for the PC also. and one of the big drawback's of the Wii is it's online structure. it's not as robust as both the xbox360's the PS3's or the PC's. it's by no mean's poor or anything like that but it's missing some thing's that hurt it.
