What will sell better PS Move or MS kinect

Ps Move 796 66.28%

MS Kinect 405 33.72%

Total:1,201

Judging from how Kotaku guys 'ooh' and 'ah' over Kinect Dance Central, it seems like M$ has striked the gold pot; M$ will be more Ninty than Ninty ever be in the coming months and sell loads of Kinect to soccer moms. Move doesnt have killer apps for casuals like Dance Central, all it has is just 'copy' games like Sports Champion and hardcore games like Socom 4 and GT5. Sorcery would be nice if it can get the license of Mickey the sorcerer from Fantasia movie or Harry Potter exclusive Move adventure, but being an all new title without famous mascot like Mario, it wont save Move. Dancing is more appealing to casuals than sorcery.

Not that it would be a bad thing, I prefer Sony to stay hardcore and pump out games like inFamous2 and Twisted Metal, and M$ to go all soccer mom things. Just imagine the look of Xbox fanboys in VGchart when they are put into the same group as soccer moms, like what Nintendo fanboys are suffering now. But sales wise, yeah, PS3 could end up being the third place forever in this gen.

And the whole 3D fart? Totally MK FATALITY by 3DS

Kinect is hot on the preorder charts and Move isn't even in the top 40.  These aren't always the best indicators but they do tend to show interest level.

Right now we have to assume that Kinect is going to be a hot item this christmas.

Move.

1. Lower cost.

2. Blu-ray player.

3. Functionality goes more in hand with the try and tested Wii.

I'd be willing to bet my sig and avatar that Kinect outsells Move by AT LEAST 3:1.

You won't be able to properly count Move sale because some will have to buy Bundle pack, others only Move controler (and some of them will buy additional Move for their bundle) so you won't be able to tell how many people bought it. When it comes to Kinect it's simple: 1x Kinect = 1x person.

Kinect at number 2 on amazon slim 360 number 1 while move still in the 30's.

its been confirmed today that GT5 has a weather system, track editor and go karts! seriously i think this is going to be the best selling in the series even beating GT3 sales of 14 million plus!

I think that a lot of people are missing the fact that Move works with the Playstation Eye and if you get Move, you can play any game the PSeye is able to play. And many (all?) of those games can work in the same way as Kinect does.

With this added into the frey, it possible that if software is updated for the PSEye, that it can also compete on the same grounds as Kinect.

Several things here:

1. There is a revolt against motion control by hard core gamers on here and around the forum.  There is whining about the need to move your body, and not use a regular pad controller.  How does Move manage to breakthrough this and get core gamers to care about motion control?

2. Exactly how much fullbody measuring and control is done with the PSEye?  If it was able to fully do this, then why was the wands added?  The Wands are used to give you a lighted light bulb, so it would track depth and where the controllers are.  And throw in the Wii here also, and ask what system does what Kinect does, in regards to tracking body motion?  How much did Harmonix lie when it said that Kinect was the first system that they ran into that did what they needed for a dance game?

3. In regards to appeal to casual, why are casual gamers going to get drawn to Move, when Move does what the Wii does, and still is a controller in the hands?  Is greater precision, and better graphics to get the casual gamer to spend more money again, to be able to get a new system and more controls?

As I see it, the success of Kinect depends upon whether people want a full body movement experience for games.  If they just want to move their hands and arms,  then the question becomes exactly whether or not Move is sufficiently superior to what the Wii does that people will buy a PS3 over the Wii to do this.

Will the PSEye be able to track 3D movement of the body of people, without the wands that light up?  If it can, then why are the Wands needed?  If not, then how can it be able to do what Kinect does, which is track an entire body of a person?

Whichever has the killer app.

Anyone who thinks that people will buy MOVE as an optional way to play existing games or future games is kidding themselves.

There HAS to be a NEED to buy either KINECT or MOVE...

So whoever can say this is a game you really need to play and this is only on KINECT/MOVE will sell the most.

From the motion only stuff I have seen so far KINECT has the edge with the fitness and sports titles.

Actually, I pretty much agree with the "Killer App" thing.  And so far, I'd have to say Kinect looks closer to that with Dance Central, Your Shape or (for the vocal hardcore) Child of Eden.  Nothing for Move right now really seems like it'll have the same sort of pull.

I do have to say though that 3rd party software in general for both is looking surprisingly pathetic.  I thought Wii had it bad with 3rd parties, but Wii's 2006 3rd party lineup absolutely slaughters both, combined even.
