It wasn't bad.  It could be considered to be a bit too kiddie and retro.  It is nice to see a new 2d / 3d Metroid on the way, though I've seen some magazine previews that say that it doesn't control that well, and a new Kid Icarus for 3DS.

I didn't think Zelda looked all that impressive.  It wasn't any more hardcore in appearance than past Zelda games.  And do we really want to stand up and fling our arms around for 40 hours to control a deep action adventure / puzzle game?  It's always much easier to play such games with a traditional controller.  And trying to take these types of games that work just fine with a traditional controller and make them too much work to really be fun is one of the current gen's pratfalls.

I'm not sure what to think of the new DKC game.  That one and Kirby just look like attempts to cash in on NSMBWii sales to me.

Thankfully there wasn't any mention of the Vitality Sensor or an appearance by Cammy Dunaway.

Golden Eye's graphics don't look anywhere near as impressive as Gears of War 3, Halo:  Reach, or Call of Duty:  Black Ops's.

Still it could have been much worse.  There wasn't anything as atrocious as their Wii Music presentation from E3 2008 or Microsoft's Kinect presentation this year.

Still, Sony should be considering the door to be very much wide open for them this year at this point in time.

I would give it a B.

Nintendo has pretty much done what I expected but not in the way I expected. I knew Nintendo was going to let loose on a more core game focus but... my God!

Zelda, Mario Sports Mix, Goldeneye, Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong, Golden Sun, new 3DS hardware... and that's not even mentioning the parts that blew me away: Kirby and Kid Icarus 3DS.

I've been getting more into Wii gaming with Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 lately but I might have to consider becoming a full convertee. I'm just blown away.

I'm a well known advocate against 3D technologies in their current consumer form (expensive, lots of accessories, not adding much value to existing 2D technologies) but the 3DS being a mobile gaming platform actually makes 3D sound like a worthwhile investment. Heck, I want one!

5/5

reaaaally good conference ;)

4/5.

Zelda had way too much lag.  Not impressed.

Donkey Kong Country was a great surprise though.  Kirby and Epic Mickey looked interesting.  Goldeneye made me smile.  But 3DS stole the show.  You can take pictures with it and view them in 3D?  What?  Hell yea.  In fact, I probably should have given the conference a 5/5 jhust for 3DS.  And Kid Icarus?  Oh hell yea.  That mess was awesome.

But strill, 4/5, because they need to fix Zelda.  Or show a new vid with much less lag.

A shiny 5 for that lineup and 3DS!

You mean the lineup where they announced 1 game?

....the rest was a list of partners that PLAN to make games for the system.

They also listed IPs that would be on it which is good enough. Probably the games aren't that far in development...

Well it's not exactly a line-up until those games are announced. and I have to buy a 3DS now simply because SE is making games for it! DAMN YOU SQUARE!!!

lol, no.  Did you watch the conference?  Actual games were announced from each.

Nintendo also announced 2 games themselves, not just one (Kid Icarus Uprising and Nintendogs and cats).

You know, I'm not the biggest Nintendo fan, in fact I've been pretty tough on them, but I have to hand it to them they kicked butt this year, what a great conference!!! They actually sold me, I'm buying a Wii and a 3DS, what a great lineup they have, I'm very impressed, what did you guys think???

FOREVER IN DARKNESS!!!

Why is SkyNet wearing a PS3 Logo???

4/5. Fantastic show.

Only let down a little by Zelda's lag, and Iwata and Reggie's ramblings about bringing together communities and innovation and *SNORE*

Some nice surprises in there, plenty of game footage, and a focus on core gamers unlike a certain other console manufacturer (hmm, trading places).

Everything we wanted to see in '08 and more.

I'm even excited for Mario Sports Mix and Wii Party.

Pixel Art can be fun.

5. Absolutely beyond epicness. The Best E3 of all time.
