Not much going on in MS Towers is there?  Yes they based their entire conference around Natal (Kinetic) and lost the first 30 mins for some reason, but really, what did they show?

Gears of War 3, Fable 3, Halo Reach, some exclusive Crytek game and exclusivity for map packs for COD for the next 3 games?

Yes there was a few Kinetic games like the Star Wars one and Forza....but it must be one of the poorer E3's for Microsoft is a long long time.  Even the redesign of the 360 was a no winner as the price for the unit wasn't lower.

Seriously though, can Sony do worse than that?  I hope Sony at least dedicate a good segment of their Conference on the hardcore gamer and not just a push for Move.  I know that Sony has released information on a plethora of titles already, ranging from Killzone 3 to LBP2 to Motorstorm Apocolypse, but surely there is still an ace up their sleeves?

Hopefully Agent makes a show withe serious push for it and maybe even Resistance 3 as well.

But all in all, I thought the MS Conference was pretty poor overall.

Hike the PS3's price up to 700, delay GT5 to 2020, rename Move "Kunect", and only showcase two games, both of which are Eyetoy spinoffs.

Sure. I don't think they will though. I mean Move has some crappy games too, much like Kinects lol.

They could go on stage, remotely YLOD everyone's console, and laugh about it for two hours, and it would just about be a tie.

Yeah, I reckon the Move games will be as bad as the Kinetic games, but it was the shear lack of new killer games that kills the MS show IMHO.  Although Sony will showcase the Move big style, I fully expect some decent time being spent on footage from Killzone 3, Infamous 3, GT5 and possibly Resistance 3 and Agent among others as well as new PS3 hardware and maybe even a new PSP.

it's possible. They did announce most of everything last week.

But there is still more to show. PSP2 and core Move games, plus we need more exclusives.

Let's stop for a moment and think about those great E3's of years long gone.  What made them so great?  New harware like the DS and PSP?  New games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess being shown for the first time?  Megaton show-stealing announcements like FF13 or MGS Rising going multi-plat?  Epic fails like the Wii Music announcement or the PS3's price point?

It seems like we only remember the epic highs or the dismal lows when it comes to E3.  Microsoft had a solid showing without really hitting us with that one big surprise that set the internet on fire.  Because of that, many think that the whole show sucked.  We get a re-design, Gears, Halo, etc. along with some great new potential, and people aren't satisfied.  I don't get it.

Sony will probably have a pretty solid showing, too.  Nintendo should, as well.  What are people expecting from these 5 years old consoles?  The good games are coming.  The potential is there.  E3 is just a glimpse into the future of gaming.  We need to quit making it into something it's not.  I look forward to the other showings and to this week, in general.
