Forums - Gaming - Sony is scamming ya'll. Keep supporting the devil.

I don't like 3d tv either...when I go to the movies it's ok and everything but that shit gets old real quick...but I don't blame Sony for it.  We just need to speak with our wallets...don't by 3dtvs and they will stop making them.

I could barely justify a $220 used PS3.. To think that some people actually spent $600 on a PS3, not to mention the costs of an HDTV, makes me sick to my stomach.

Most people I know bought an HDTV so they can watch HD channels, not for the PS3.  I don't see any justification for why we're blaming Sony for the prices of HDTVs.  It is up to the consumer to choose what they want to spend their money on.  Nobody is putting a gun to your head to purchase a PS3 and HDTV.

3D is shit anyways. I have a simple solution to your problem.

DON'T BUY THAT CRAP!

I'm not going to listen to you. Nyea Nyea! *sticks tongue out*

If you want to get me to dish out lots of money. Just make a Final Fantasy title for it and I will just dish out the money.

Don't blame sony because you can't afford a 3dtv and over half the people in the forums.. Including me !

Again, I don't think "afford" is the appropriate word. Most adults could easily afford one, but they just aren't really worth owning at this point in time, for gaming. First, you need a plasma if it's gonna be worth a damn, so you have to deal with phosphor trailing. Next, it's much more expensive, than many others TVs with inherantly better PQ, and finally, there really aren't any games that impliment it well enough to justify the expense. On top of it all, the technology is currently pretty lame. You have to wear these glasses, and it kinda sucks bro. :P

I mean, I could afford a big pile of golden elephant shit, but if I talk about how much it stinks, it might not be because I'm poor.

Just for argument's sake, this isn't really accurate.  After exhaustive testing, the AVForums review of the VT20/25 series Panasonic plasma had this to say: "...the best offering in the current TV market for 2D images, with reference 3D images as a bonus."  This line has improved phosphor technology as part of the improvements to incorporate the 3D technology.

What I don't understand is why everyone seems to think Sony is the only force behind the whole 3D push.  EVERY manufacturer of HDTVs is jumping on the 3D bandwagon and pushing 3D content, not Sony exclusively (Panasonic is spearheading the development of several channels of 3D-exclusive content, in fact).  Sony just has an advantage because the PS3 has the technical ability to provide content of that type, where no other console does.  As someone who owns a 3DTV, I'm actually glad that the PS3 is capable of 3D support and will (allegedly) allow me to avoid the potential expense of a 3D Blu-ray player, as the PS3 was listed as part of the official 3D spec and will become 3D Blu-ray capable at some point this year.  It's unlikely that we will see many (if any) 3D-only games, only games that have a 3D option available for those who can use it (as seen in the recently-released PSN updates/demos for Wipeout HD, Super Stardust HD, and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift).

Weezy's trolling is out of date. Of course, he's so cool that we should just excuse him for everything.

I agree with this statement.

Games will still work on your HD/SD TV so how are forcing us to upgrade?  They are just trying to improve the gaming experience for those who can afford a 3Dtv.

Well, I can afford 10 of them, but that doesn't mean I'm going to waste my money on them, because the technology is currently shit. Maybe in a few years.

Until then, if Sony wants to focus on 3D games, then they probably lose a customer. However, if they want to treat it as the gimmick it is until it becomes workable, then I can accept it.

Rofl awesome for you that you can afford 10 of them, but considering you being the ultimate leader and savior of the Ninty defense force, I highly doubt you would get anything with Sony in it. Go buy 10 3DS instead with that money and the next 11 pokemon games because we all know they will be amazing with the innovative extra feature or 2 per game. :p

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

LMFAO so you're against new technology? What if people just said black and white TV's are good enough, we don't need colour TV's or any of that shit?

Point is its optional. Sony is still gonna make regular games, 3D is just an experiment.

Christ people, is this so hard to understand? We are NOT against new technology! We are simply against spending ungodly amounts of money on technology.
