SONY is definitely gonna lose that battle..lol..NINTENDO is literally one step ahead as always.

Not really as they haven't announced Wii HD and if they don't this year and most probably will not it could be FATAL as for next gen they just can't bring an HD upgrade
and by that time NATAL,MOVE would have eaten Wii's share
|
Iwata: *laughs*
Why would choosing nto to release an unnecessary 'upgrade' to the most popular console be fatal for a next gen of clean slate consoles?
|
AS the current popularity can help them with the release of their next console
if they release in 2012 the next Nintendo console,by then Wii's are maket share is just 40%,,that will be bad
also PS4 will be releasing cheap this time and MS as always would like to spend their money
|
And yet Nintendo was coming off a sub 20% marketshare with the Gamecube, and came out with the Wii thereafter, which exploded in popularity and achieved close to 50% marketshare in 3 and a half years time.
Wii will not fall to 40%, that sort of drop is astronimical in 2 years, when so many consoles have already been sold. But even if it DOES, it doesn't have a bearing on the next gen of consoles. I think PS2 to PS3 and Gamecube to Wii prove that point pretty clearly.
Releasing the next Nintendo console this year or next would be far more foolish than releasing it in 2012-2014, especially considering the 3DS is already coming out next year. Reggie even said, "the potential of Wii is nowhere near being recognised." I think Nintendo really believes that. You don't rush out the next console when motion plus is just getting going and Vitality Sensor has yet to be released.

i am not saying release this year but announce for next year and showcase this year
also if not a new console something new which will hord off the MOV and NATAL thing
Wii explodd in popularity but only because the console with most popularity and brnad name was expensive.if PS3 was $299 then no way Wii was going to be a success with Playstation brand being so strong that time
You really believe the Wii wouldn't be a success if the PS3 was $300? Wow..
Then why is the PS3 not outselling the Wii right now, when it IS $300? Why is the Xbox 360, which is now CHEAPER than the Wii, still getting vastly outsold by it? Price has little to do with it..
and you say it went to 50% in 3 years,it can centainly drop 10% in 2 years if they go without thinking about the competition
But they ARE thinking about the competition. Hence the motion plus, Vitality Sensor, 3DS (which takes the wind out of Sony's 3D sails), etc.

lol.... PS2 to PS3 and GC to Wii was because of the expensive PS3 again.PS4 won't be that expensive now that blu-ray is cheap
Again, you can't possibily believe that. Price means little. Gamecube was cheaper, yet got smoked by the PS2. I truly believe that PS3 could have been CHEAPER than Wii at launch, and it would have still gotten outsold. The types of games Sony and its 3rd parties makes simply does not appeal to the masses like many Wii games do.
motion plus is just get going-MOtion plus sin't really doing anything,it adds precise motion controls but people din't really care about it as most are casuals and also no wonder they bought Wii before Motion plus cause they didn't care about it.
Uh, ok I got nothing.. It takes quite a lot to leave me speechless, congrats.
Vitiality sensor could be important to holding of Move and NATAL and acting as a new buying point but we will have to see cause atm it sounds pretty serious stuff which causals don't like
Serious stuff? What does this even mean, and why don't casuals like it? My prediction is that Vitality Sensor will be a huge hit. Why? Because most Wii gamers like games that try new things, and they like games that improve or compliment their everyday lives (Wii Sports, Wii Fit, etc.) Also, people are stressed in today's society, particularly in the US, so Vitality Sensor is a golden opportunity ripe for success.
Whatever Reggie says does hide the fact that their compeitors are climbing fast
Really? How so? I don't see any huge shifts in sales right now, nor do I see an indication of those trends in the future. PS3 may be up, but 360 is way down, so it balances out. But yeah I forgot, Nintendo is teh doomed!!1 They always are.
3DS is coming this year
