Forums - Nintendo - Netflix on Wii...

Anybody have it? I have had it for about three weeks, since I just got a Netflix account. It just started to just freeze on me in the middle of a movie, and does really slow loading queues. Does the Wii overheat while playing Netflix for too long possibly? Even with that, I have got to say it is pretty great. Also, just out of curiosity, Netflix has not received 3 out of the 4 total disks I have sent back in the mail so far. It is messing up my return times, and I don't have any issues with any other outgoing mail. Anybody else have this issue? I wonder if somebody at the Post Office is stealing my disks.

About the post office:  I have NEVER ordered anything and not had the box torn open just enough for someone to peak inside.  I don't trust those motherfuckers.

And your Netflix Wii issues:  My first time using the Wii version, it was as slow as molasses.  The second time, it was as fast a lightening.  I guess it all depends on your connection speed (which can change based on lots of different things).

Yeah, I'm almost possitive somebody is ganking my disks. I love the service, but my account is probably going to be flagged soon. For all Netflix knows, I'm holding onto "Supernatural" disks 2, 3 and 4 for myself. You're probably right about the connection speed. I have Comcast though. The Wii is connected to the internet through my WiFi connection though.

I've had it since launch and no I've never had it freeze or had slow loading times.  I've literally had it on all day playing shows and it didn't even hiccup, maybe you're wii is worn out or your connection is slow.

I really got in on this Netflix on Wii, how much is a Netflix subscription?

It's $8.99 plus tax a month for 1 DVD out at a time, and unlimited streaming.

I had problems earlier in the week with the Netflix plugin for Win7 Media Center.  But the Wii was working perfectly.  The only thing I've noticed with it is that the video is a little blurrier than the WMC version.  But that's probably because I haven't bought component cables yet.

The fast-forward mechanism is just so irritating. The load time just kills me.

Actually, I'm watching MST3K on Wii Netflix right now.

I never would have signed up for it on my own, but my girlfriend decided to link her account to my Wii since it didn't cost anything extra.  I've never had any streaming/loading issues and it works really well.  I think it's only issue is that you can't seem to search for movies on the Wii itself, and must go online to request films for the Instant View.

For as much as I dismiss this kind of crap on a game system (like Hulu on the X360, or ever watching DVD's on a game system) I really have nothing terrible to say about this.  Actually, it's a pretty wise use of the Wii.  Anyone can watch DVD's on just about anything, and I think it's lame to want that option in a game system.  But with this, I can stream movies, in a relatively high quality, without the use of an extra device to watch 'em on my TV.  (Well, okay, I suppose I could always hook up my laptop to my TV via HDMI cable if I really wanted to, but then I wouldn't be screwing around on the thing during the movie).

you can get a free 2 week trial and stream all the movies you want =P
