Sony:”Ken Kutaragi Was A Genius” PS3 Future “Vibrant”
Do you remember Ken Kutaragi? Sure you can, he was the face of PlayStation for umpteen years.
But as you might have heard, the mastermind retired after pressure began to
mount in the early days of PS3 when, seemingly, it was about to fail.
Four years later though, Sony execs around the world can’t stop praising Kataragi,
some even go as far as saying he’s a “genius”.
“Ken Kutaragi was a genius,” Sony UK boss, Ray Maguire told Edge, “it’s as simple as that.”
“And what we’re seeing now is people starting to integrate the latent power of
PS3 into a way where the processor is big enough to develop and actually to
put that kind of stuff on screen in a way which is easy to view.”
He also told Eurogamer that at the end of this year’s E3, the industry
will have a clearer view of where it’s going, and that the [PS3's] future is “vibrant”.
“I firmly believe that by the end of the show, we will see where
we’re going as an industry,” he told the site. “There is major
innovation, without a doubt, and that innovation has got to come through as good product.”
“The tech platforms are getting better and better, we’ve
got a vibrant future and it’s all about creativity.
E3 is but two days away. By the way, do you think Sony made
the right decision when Ken Kutaragi was asked to resign? Share your thoughts.
