Just a clarification about a misconception that seems to be plaguing this here thread.

They are not freeing an SPU by removing the Other OS function. An actual SPU isn't being used or reserved for the Other OS feature if you don't even run Linux at all. The SPU reserved for OS is the one used to run the actual PS3 OS (XMB) in background at all time. ¬_¬
