so psp>ds and ps3>wii again? :S honest to god I find this confusing...didn't SMG push any hw at all? I mean I can understand if it doesn't push thousands and thousands but still :S these numbers are in general rather low

SMG 2 is the continuation of SMG. I don't think anyone that wanted SMG 2 didn't have one (wii) already, because probably they bought it when SMG came out.

But yeah.... These numbers are low. I mean, the top selling one is under 25K =s

DS is way down because Nintendo announced the price cut on June 19 during this week. It will drop off again quite a bit next week before rebounding nicely in two weeks.

But still above Super Mario Galaxy Second week in Japan.... Its proportionately almost the same exact drop SMG had... Maybe Mario has a larger Audience (3d wise) in JPN

I dunno why people keep saying Galaxy 2 is outselling 1 like it's a good thing...there's a much larger Wii install base now, remember? Everybody ignores that. Galaxy 2 certainly *should* be outselling 1, and not by a little.

Install base is not important, sold copies is. Attach rate for individual games drops quickly when install base is getting better so using attach rates have no meaning. Practically always when sequel to a game is released on the same console, sales of the sequel are not significantly better or they are even worse. It is rare to sell much more than prequel if prequel was on the same console. Usually sequel sells less copies although install base is many times bigger. No matter how well liked prequel was.

It depends. Certainly Reach will sell a lot more than Halo 3, MW2 sold more than MW1, Uncharted 2 more than 1, etc.

 

Yes I know the attach rate goes down as install base goes up, nevertheless it is normally not enough to cancel out the increased install base, sales should increase.
