Wow so this is why SONY anoucned so many games befor EE3, if they have all this stuff to show off too then.....wow

it very well could be because Google. Tv would be seen in my opinion a pretty big application to add to the PS3. much bigger impact than say MLB.Tv has as an example.

for one Android OS does more function's add to that Google.Tv since it's based on Android it's very flexable.Sony has some over 2 year's experience with Android it seem's. so it's going to be exciting to see what Sony may have instore

also.

a) flash developer's could make application's for the PS3 that would be on the low end cost to make. and it would still be able to run on the PS3.Flash support for the PS3 would be better on the PS3.

b) Google.Tv is a product not just in one area for Sony it seem's it's, what i can tell is to move the Sony CE product's toward a unified OS that the XMB is just not had the fanfare that Android is gathering already. It's a win .win for Both Sony and Google.

I AM BOLO

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

Maybe I should have held off on buying my new phone....

Anyway, Sony should really take advantage of the fact that they work in so many different areas. They make cameras, TVs, computers, playstations, phones, mp3 players and pretty much every single piece of electronics that you come to mention, and it really does seem like they are missing a trick not sticking all these things together into one device.

The PSP is good, but its usability is so much less than the iOS, and I think Sony needs to integrate everything better. They should be competing directly with Apple on the portable market with few devices. But they also need more network integration, so a movie and music store for all their devices. Just make a proper Sony phone that can do everything, with a proper OS, based around android which includes a proper PSP, and it looks like the PlayView is in this direction

Wow so technically we could have a proper App Store for PS3/PSP if your point (a) can be a reality.

Well no wonder SONY is gonna need time in their E3 conference to reveal all this stuff (if true), because games can be shown on the show floor, some games are even revealed on the show floor, but stuff like this needs to be done in conferences

Cant wait, we'll know in a week.

and @ OP, I think we are looking at Sony's answer to the ipad.

That seems like a very reasonable assumption.

Yes it's clearly the PSP2. Doubt they can challenge the ipone/Ipad but maybe they simply have to offer all those features to stay competitive, the ability to download apps and be able to read e-books and stuff.

I don't want to spell doom yet but I am tempted to just by looking at that strategy plan.

Sounds like a smartphone with bigger push on games.

This means that PSP2 will likely be an attempt to crack the iPhone market and then take into account Sony's recent relationship with Google, it may run Android.

Why  does everyone assume we are going to see PSP2?  I honestly think that PSP is fine as a platform and that we will simply see a rebranding.  PSP games playable on non PSP devices such as phones and tablets.  There is no need for new actual PSP hardware.  Sony can continue it's regular profitable PSP business maybe with a pricecut to help spur hardware sales and have their games on the android marketplace as well.  This means no costly new hardware launch as well as re invigoration of the platform for Sony and Android Marketplace gets very high quality games to match Apple's third party app support.

PSP is still a very powerful handheld and games like MGS:PW and new GoW make me question the need for upgraded hardware.  Sorry for those of you hoping for 2 analog sticks.

This idea also vibes with the recent pricing changes on PSN as well.

Maybe because PSPGo failed, PSP3000 is trending downward, and Nintendo is confirmed to be released a sequal to the DS line. I don't see how you can deny the obvious.

Seems like Sony is aiming for a iPad competitor that plays PSP games and new games (touch screen and stuff?), plus we could be seeing a whole new OS for PSP, PS3 and everything else with the partnership, adding a lot more of content through Sony new digital market (that they announced some time this year). I'm excited for E3! Hope they announce stuff like this there.
