Forums - General - Eminem Is Back

I've been listening to the whole album all day, and its definitely a major improvment over Relapse; no annoying accent. Can't download it because i'm still in school, will pretty much just buy it when it releases in uk.

Rihanna really impressed me on "Like the way you lie", I personally think she doesn't sing that well, but she was amazing on that song. Lyricaly, 25 to Life is amazing.

Rap isn't that good of a genre of "music". Detroit has never produced any good artists except for Bob Seger. Any other "musician" to come out of Detroit is just some scumbag piece of trash.

I honestly think you need to STFU and if you can't contribute anything to the conversation then don't. Calling the man a scumbag for what? because he's not Bob fuckin Seger?

No because all Eminem does is degrade women. I contributed my ever-so-important opinion so why don't you kindly shut the fuck up? I was also taking a shot at Kid Rock :P

And I don't give a fuck about Eminem's background. So his mom probably beat him up. Who gives a fuck? No one. I don't go bitching about my life in songs just because I got made fun of in high school.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Here's my review for Recovery.

“I’ll kick a bitch in the cunt until it makes a queef and sounds like a whoopee cushion”

"Ya I laugh when I can you a slut, its funny
Shorty dance while I dis ya to the beat
Fuck the words you don't listen to em anyway
Ya struck a nerve sucka
Mo' fucker, might as well let my lips pucker
Like Elton john, cuz/im just a mean cocksucker"

Wow...that’s what I was left saying after listening to Eminem’s recovery. Wow. That one word sums up the whole album. Wow. I’ve been listening to Eminem for quite a while now and there were times where he just left me dazed, confused and in awe. There have been times where he created some of the most disappointing tracks I have ever had the displeasure of listening to as well. We have what I would like to call a love/hate relationship. After the rather weak and annoying Relapse, I was pretty skeptical on whether Em could ever get back to form. To be blunt he has. The album has everything you would come to expect from a great Eminem. It’s witty, charming, raw, honest and just fucking hilarious. In seventeen tracks Em has made me a believer. I lost count on how many times I was just absorbed into the whole affair and totally ignored the world around me.

One weird thought that kept coming back to me was that Eminem reminds me of Allen Iverson. He reminds me of AI in the sense that he leaves everything he has within him on the court/track. Em is just brutally honest about his music and especially about himself. Don’t be surprised if you walk away from Recovery thinking that you have been a close friend of Marshall Mathers for years. He just lays it all out. It’s like the album serves as a confession stand. With Em being the one doing the confession and you being the priest that has to listen, as he tells you how he accomplished each of the seven deadly sins with a clarity that leaves you dumbfounded.

That isn’t to say that the album is perfect. No, it’s far from perfect. While some may love the direction Em has done with his beat selection. I actually hated it. The beats forced Em to use a one-dimensional flow despite the mindset that he’s approached the album with. I know it may be asking for a lot, but as a fan I feel Eminem is at his best when he’s rapping over a threatening and hollow beat. Something akin to Renegade where he was able to switch his flow up constantly without loosing himself or stumbling over the beat.

Overall, Slim Shady is back. The man we all know and love is back with a vengeance and truth be told, I’d hate to be anyone that tried to stand in his way.

(I.E Mariah Carey it’s time to STFU)

4.5/5

This kinda bothers me as well. There was some variety to the album but I had this same exact thought through a number of the tracks... but other than that, the album is EXCELLENT. I fully agree with everything in your review.
