Forums - Sony - Sony On Kill Streak May Be Unloading All Guns At This Years E3

I'm still scratching my head on why Sony is so eager to announce all of these big sequels right before E3. I mean, I suppose that it wouldn't be a bombshell if most of these sequels were revealed at Sony's E3 showing, but they're still big titles that would gain a pretty big buzz if they were revealed then and there.

Comparitively, Nintendo is holding everything close to the chest as usual (I mean, all we know is a 3DS and Zelda... and even then all we have are names.) and even Microsoft is being much more secretive than usual. Of course, there was the big Gears 3 reveal, but other than that all we know about Natal is that ricochet game...

Don't get me wrong, a game reveal is a game reveal and the end result is us playing them when they release... but i just find it sort of odd. *shrugs*

what about WKC 2  since its already there? might show an English trailer like last time.

i myself think this is great, its why i like Playstation the most, too much variety, there is always a new game to look forward too =]

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

Not much that I'm looking forward to from the Sony camp.. I am interested in LBP 2 and Last Guardian though.

remember guys they might announced all these games to make room for Move and PSP, so don't get your hopes up very high like that.

I'm not so sure we'll see Syphon Filter so soon, tbh.  I'm expecting Ape Escape and possibly Starhawk instead.

Either way, Sony is pumping out an asston of games now.  All their developers have finally gotten their engines and whatnot completed, so now they're on track to pump out a game every two years or so.  Much quicker than waiting 3-4 years like we did for Killzone 2 and God of War III.

And later this year we'll see titles like Uncharted 3 being announced to add to Killzone 3 and the rest.  And hopefully we'll get another big ps3 project from SCEJ at TGS alongside Demon's Souls 2.

You've heard something...?

Let's just say that certain people may or my not have had threats made against their lives pending the announcement of Demon's Souls 2 at TGS.

I have yet to have a confirmation that it will happen either way, but if it doesn't...

I'm calling it - this E3 will be the biggest E3 for the PS3 yet. Not the biggest E3 for the comapny period, but the PS3. With this major shift in the PS brand and its marketing, the E3 needs to match it.

In think it's the biggest E3 for everyone. Like I said before, this is the time Sony and Microsoft have to do something about Nintendo. Nintendo is up and ready to kick Sony and Microsoft out of the market space, and they need to stop them. Natal and Move need to come out swinging.

Not at all... the PS360 see most third party support, and being very similar platforms, vastly different from the Wii, they can be almost viewed as one. Their marketshare is a little bigger than the Wii's in size, too. The Wii may squeeze them further in marketshare, but it'll never kick them out.

Though, you're probably right about this years' show being the biggest for all three.

@CGI: I can't wait to see it. With the PS3's draw into the casual market being what decides its fate for the other half of this gen, this show will indeed be the pinnacle for them.

Nintendo is using disruption with the Wii and probably the DS. Disruption is not about disrupting product, it's about disrupting companies. What Nintendo is doing is taking a poker game and turning it into Uno. Nintendo will win Uno and take Sony and Microsoft's chips. Whenever disrupting is employeed, the end result will be (unless stopped) that the competitors will be gone. Nintendo can destory Sony and Microsoft. That's their plan at least.

This is why I say this year is big. Sony and Microsoft have to stop Nintendo or else.

wonder wat they got up their sleeves

The Wii is, however, not as strong as it was before. This "disruption" talk fits '08 more than it does this year, as things are pretty much leveled and trends aren't changing much.

All consoles have found their niches and are doing well in all of them, which is why Nintendo doesn't to be stopped - they aren't big with the audience buying the PS3 and 360.
