It says that these points will enable you to trade them in for upgraded features, etc... but wouldn't that also mean that if you have ~20k points and are currently an "Old Guard" and buy a feature for 500k points that you would drop in rank?

I personally think that makes very little sense and that ranking should continue to be based on post count, because for some that alone may prevent them from wanting to even use their GamrConnect points.

Just thought I would put that out there.

Actually, all that really needs to be done is reevaluate the points system. 1pt for a post is crazy when that is what's so important to the community forum. I would turn down the pts from various game additions as that's so biased towards the game dba, instead the forum actions should be worth more.

Yeah, I was surprised that a wall post is worth twice as much as a forum post. Makes it seems like the site is more focused on a Facebook style as opposed to what we had before. It is like they encourage us to use Wall posts more than actually posting in the forum itself.

It just feels so odd.

Not from a cost perspective. Wall posts can be deleted from the database eventually, whereas the forum posts remain indefinitely. Thus, if we are pushed onto the facebook style wall, his database will grow far slower than the forum based model.

I guess all depends on what these "features" will cost points-wise.

I don't mind the points thing...  But, maybe the points per post should depend on how big the post was.  Makes no sense that a person could voice his opinion in full justifyable detail.  Yet, some guy that spams "hey, what's up dude."  on a bunch of random people's wall gets much more.

While I'm on the subject of complaining, I'll go ahead and add: I don't like how tedious everything is.  It's no longer unified, and that's not good.  I feel lost when I come here, and thus, no longer care to read about anything, because by the time i find what I want, I no longer care anymore.

Sure, it may  load quicker, but...  for an extra 2 seconds?  I'll take what I had before, thanks.  I like the point system (with the absumption it will be worked out) and the new colorscheme.

Everything else is a no go.....  I mean... look at this... to the left of this reply window is a white stipe, gray stipe, and a black strip.. and they are HUGE.... There's no boarders, or artistic creativness from what I see..... Just blank squares with words through-out the entire site....  it's all so... boring.  And then, divided content...  Why?...

The White and green makes the site seem pro-xbox.

anyway, regarding points.. i don't even really know what they're all about. what are the features that we can get with them? (i havent been on vgc in a loong time).
