Yh I understand, I'm just trying to appeal some people's common sense.

I wonder if this thread has beaten any vgchartz record... over 30 pages in just one day :P lol

30 pages? You 10 post/page peasant!

And no, it's nowhere near a record.

I was born using 10 post/page, and I'll die using 10 post/page! :P

@ Maxwell

Thanks for the info =) Do you think there will be another game/console/event capable of killing vgchartz in 2010 or is the new website just too hawt for that? lol

Well the reason that thread killed the site was partially going way over the old servers bandwidth limits and just so many posts being processed at once just slowed down the site as a whole, no game will quite come close to that sort of hype I don't think, and after the server change and the new forum updates I highly doubt the site will die like that again.

Someone should give Morgan Webb that Super Mario Bros. movie from the early 1990s to watch, and then ask her if she still thinks Mario games shouldn't look cartoony.

Wow, I can't read this thread any longer. The level of assholism is unbearable.

you're right, that is proof that Mario should never go photorealistic

Complaining about the story of a Mario game at this point is like complaing about the story of a Gran Turismo game.

Story is just NOT the point of Mario games.  Just like it's not the point of a game like Gran Turismo, which is devoid of any.

... Because ignorant people like RolStoppable just won't accept that Mario games are being praised one title after the other for their unmatched and innovative level designs, intuitive and precise controls and the fact that the games in the series are nearly flawless on a technical level (barely any bugs or glitches).  (yeah, see what I did there. ¬_¬)

There are certainly games out there that are deserving of similar attention, but stating that they are "more deserving" than Mario games in the fashion that RolStoppable worded it is just plain arrogance and completely subjective, even if he's trying to conceal it by taking the lecturing yet childish "my opinion is right, yours is ignorant" approach.

Word of advice:

Rol is a major joker.

Never listen to one word he says.

Dude, you totally just ruined it. :(

This thread is getting old...x.o.

People who don't agree with Morgan won't start agreeing with Morgan. Those who think she has the right to state her opinion know that she is entitled to that but then again, people on here are entitled to their opinions as well.

My goal in the thread was to point out that she might have a reason for feeling the way she did.

I have no problem with Morgan having an opinion. My whole problem was the lack of depth in her reasoning. I'd expect more from a gaming journalist. I've seen stealth trolls put forth a more reasonable argument.

Gaming journalists are people too. I've seen a few members of staff on here bashing games without reason in the past. And stealth trolls are supposed to give a "reasonable argument"  hense why they are stealth trolls. If a person is stealthy with their trolling, they are going to say something more then "WAH WAH WAH MARIO SUCKS WAH WAH WAH." They are going to try to convince you of why the game is terrible instead of giving baseless reasons. e.e

People paid to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Despite gaming journalists continually behaving like juveniles, I will still hold them to a professional standard. I get enough ill supported opinions and unsubstantiated claims in gaming forums.

look. im not debatting this. so what she makes no sence. if it in 3D already you can say shes out of her mind. but her right ti an opinion right or senceless as it maybe is hers

You're missing the point.

Everyone has a right to an opinion, but the basis on which said opinion is set can be incorrect and false.

Do you understand?

THAT ON WHICH AN OPINION IS SET IS ALLOWED TO BE ARGUED AND IN TURN MAKES THE VALIDITY OF THE OPINION COME INTO QUESTION.

Again:

MORGAN WEBB DOES NOT LIKE SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2. SHE SETS THIS OPINION ON THE IDEA THAT THE GAME IS NOT 3D ENOUGH AND IT IS TOO CARTOONY. THESE REASONS ARE NOT VALID AND WE CAN QUESTION HER OPINION.

Again:

EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO AN OPINION, BUT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO BE CHALLENGE IF THEY ARE UNREASONABLE AND HAVE NO SOLID REASONS TO BACK THEM UP.

Again;

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO AN OPINION DOES NOT MEAN IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE QUESTIONED.

Do you understand now?

i didn't say it souldn't be question.  all i said was that it's her opinnion and she has a right to it no matter how stupid it sounds.
