It's obviously a joke.  Hence the mention of Chuck Rock and Bubsy, two third party characters that saw their heyday during the NES era right alongside Kid Icarus.

Kinda ironic that some people are laughing at Game Informer's supposed ignorance on this one.  I can see lambasting them for a considerably weak attempt at humor, but ignorant they are not.  At least not in this instance.

I can't agree more. PS Generation brought excellent games and a great jump in some areas of gaming, but it also brought more ignorance and hate than the Atari/Coleco through NES/SNES era combined.. ug.


During the Playstation reign we've had almost complete stagnation outside of graphics, which is probably why most gamers now are graphics whores. I mean really the FPS genre is like 16 years old and we haven't seen anything really improve past Half-Life 1 besides graphically.

Remember when new genres and totally new styles of game play would pop up constantly and new concepts were around every corner? 

I do :( 

After 1998/1999 (Quake/Half-Life/Starcraft gen) the Playstation camp has been in control and looking back that whole worthless generation of both developers and players given us exactly fuckall besides better graphics.

not all of us are ignorant, please don't throw us all in the same bag.

And if you ask me it was the xbox generation that started this whole graphics debate the ps has not always been known for graphical prowess compared to other systems, it's only the ps3 that seemed to change the formula and be the most powerful and mind blowing console ever, so it's not our fault if we can't bare looking at graphics from the GC era (not that i do, but i know some people who do mind)

Edit: also finally I can't wait to play on xenoblade story gameplay epic massive world>>graphics lool
