Forums - Microsoft - HOLD PRESS! NEW GEOW 3 SCREENS!

Best graphics this gen. There's only one problem... the screens are doctored. (meaning they probably run in extremely high resolution then scaled down) Plus they might not even be in-game, only in-engine/cut scenes.

although I agree to an extent. 3 of these screens are clearly ingame gameplay, hence the HUD's.

Man try to be in the minority with a measure of grace, here. Fine line between holding opinions and constantly disparaging what people like.

I thought I did just that... I conceded that I am in minority.

"With a measure of grace" is the operative phrase, here.

Thats as graceful as I can be when I disagree with the majority. I like to stick it to the man... :)

@Wagram

Fair enough... I found both games had terrible story and worse dialoge than most Porn movies. But Gears 1 had funner more challenging gamplay. Everything in Gears 2 was for presentation sake. Like riding that flying creature in Gears 2...dude, not fun!

I found riding the reaver to be one of the most fun, most challenging parts of the game, but to each their own, I suppose.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

lol, I have a feeling you guys are just making fun of me now...To me, that flying part, just like the insides of the worm, were there as technical demos to show off what the Unreal Engline 3 V2 can do.

Its cool, I'm ok with being the only one not likeing gears 2...and I respect that the game was such a hit with you guys.

Actually, looks like I'm not the only one  - http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/Artie/gears-of-war-2s-campaign-sucks/30-15637/

This guy must be my long lost gaming twin as everything he says here is 100% how I feel about the game.

Dude seriously, dont worry. I am fine with you not liking certain aspects of Gears 2. I agree with some things you like ( like Episode 2 in HL2 and Halo ) and disagree with others. That makes us unique. ;)

It's a good thing not a bad thing. :)

Funny how you picked the dullest part of the whole game.

Just staying behind and fire with rocket launchers. How challenging *Rolleyes*

Its not about challenge but gamer engagement. Tripods coming from all sides, timer ticking, alarms going off...all while being attacked by those robo mini tripods.

Besides, you must have played on easy or something as I clearly remember that being plenty challenging. I remember having 1 rocket launcher which can take 1 tripod down. the other 9 you had to take down with those mini bombs and gravity gun

I'm veery sure they were quite a few little shacks with rocket launchers in them.

Some were a few meters away, but at least 3 of them were very close at the base.

dude knowing Gears of War3 will get released one day is what keeps me going everyday

I see where your coming from. However, remember each to their own. ;)

I found the flying part a welcome break in Gears 2 for example. And enjoyed being able to take in the visuals more in that part.

Also loved the part in the underground river. Also the defense of the landing platforms just after the flying bit.

But also I loved the first time you fought the big guy in Gears 1 ( forgotten what they are called ) where he takes out the pillars. That was great design. Little room, yet you have to run. ArGGGGHHHH.

The story is of course generic. But Gears was always about the set pieces. Of which it does a great job. Gears doesnt really do boss fights. What it has is pretty easy. But it does battles exceedingly well. #

I'm less picky with games than most here. If I'm really enjoying it I couldnt care for any issues. As long as they dont hinder my enjoyment. Glitches smitches for example. I enjoyed ME1 to much to notice any faults.

I loved that Berserker battle!!

Lead the fool outside and hit him with the Hammer of Dawn!

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I did miss Berserker battles, but I can see why the team thought three was enough. Maybe they'll be back in the third game.
