I expect Nintendo to Show a Typical Hardcore Vision this E3,(a huge direction change) but will try to do so without alienating. Nintendo has a Big Show to Pull off, cause thats going to be hard to do.

Its more like "We hate those mtf cuz everything we spend years creating , and releasing it as a untested tech , and taking the market risk is being copied " The danger for nintendo is not the "copies" do take over the original (as market share concerns) but to flood the market with the same ideas what not only kills the innovation but also confuses the consumer.

Nintendo will not show a "hardcore vision." Nintendo has done everything this generation with the idea that the core market is dying and creating new growth. Why would they ignore all that and have a "hardcore vision?"

Correct, and if anything, they're going to PUSH HARD to keep their blue ocean blue. Vitality Sensor, 3D Games (possibly with a potential health/mental benefit) and the focus on "everyone" is their new strategy and, guess what, its working for them.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Ya I know. It would be cool though.
I want Dark Alison!!!!! /drule =P
that thought may be influencing my jugment. hehe
I dont think Hardcore is dieing though. Its always changing and you can influence that.
I think its importent that Nintendo feeds a really good Vision with the market this E3. to settle the stress waves
Natal/Move will make. Sony and Natal will look to disrupt confidence in Nintendo. The Twins are already doing it
with Ads. And alot of folks feel there confidence in Nintendo a bit shacken by it.
Or what your saying is they will keep the same format as last year's E3? Could be no one knows yet.
No I think its going to be more hardcore then last years if only for the fact they have alot of coregames that will
show. But not like I imagined, going from light to dark (that idea was from the consules chang of color) and having
E3 as a focal pointe.
Although that would be really Cool to see something like that happen in my lifetime lol! Take the Wii and just
Showcase it as totaly the most Hardcore thing you could ever owned.
Imagine Taking the little show NintendoWeek and have that change from totaly Casual like it is now to
Totaly hardcore. Not going to happen. but still would be the funniest market move ever witness in all human history.
Make Alison into the totaly Hot Clubing chick Gamer and Gary into Dark Gary but not just a joke of himself thing.
So you think they are looking to Expand the market some more And use there Software Muscule power to capture
remaining deing Hardcore? Thats very posible. ya

Either Sony is showing off the PSP2 (which may not be on the show floor, thus no booth) or they are done with handhelds. People here tend to think Sony is invincible. That is definatly not true. Every company can be defeated one way or another. However, we'll have to wait till E3. If they have no PSP at all, I would be shocked. |
With the handheld gen winding down it will be very interesting to see where Sony goes next. Sony came into handhelds expecting to crush Nintendo the same way they had done on consoles. Not only did they not crush Nintendo, but its not unreasonable to call the PSP a failure (though it certainly has had its successes).
If Sony is pulling their booth suddenly then I think its most likely that they were planning on showing PSP2 at E3, but in light of the news about 3DS they are holding back (either because they don't want to share the spot light, or because knowing what's coming from Nintendo they want to modify the PSP2). But I don't think Sony being done with handhelds is beyond reason.

Possible. I don't expect them to up and leave the market, esspecially if it's going to pay for the much expensive PS3.
Iwata has decreaded that they will never launch after Sony so this is very good for them. If they are using a Blue Ocean Strategy, then the PSP2 will be ok when ever it launches, so long as it can gaurner support. If the 3DS is disruptive, then Sony will be in a world of hurt if they wait too long.

You know, i don't think theres any Blue Ocean left, but we'll see.
