I was reading that Sony has pulled out of there PSP showcase booth.

In other words i think they are not showing anything at all, is what i understood. It was in a podcast over at Nintendolife.com i think.

Its not always friendly competition.  lol

Either Sony is showing off the PSP2 (which may not be on the show floor, thus no booth) or they are done with handhelds.

People here tend to think Sony is invincible. That is definatly not true. Every company can be defeated one way or another. However, we'll have to wait till E3. If they have no PSP at all, I would be shocked.

With the handheld gen winding down it will be very interesting to see where Sony goes next. Sony came into handhelds expecting to crush Nintendo the same way they had done on consoles. Not only did they not crush Nintendo, but its not unreasonable to call the PSP a failure (though it certainly has had its successes).

If Sony is pulling their booth suddenly then I think its most likely that they were planning on showing PSP2 at E3, but in light of the news about 3DS they are holding back (either because they don't want to share the spot light, or because knowing what's coming from Nintendo they want to modify the PSP2). But I don't think Sony being done with handhelds is beyond reason.

Possible. I don't expect them to up and leave the market, esspecially if it's going to pay for the much expensive PS3.

Iwata has decreaded that they will never launch after Sony so this is very good for them. If they are using a Blue Ocean Strategy, then the PSP2 will be ok when ever it launches, so long as it can gaurner support. If the 3DS is disruptive, then Sony will be in a world of hurt if they wait too long.
