Graphics and gameplay are linked as someone else mention that a lot of the old classics were graphic whores at the time.  Wii was an exception because of motion controls and exercise wii board. Anything that suppose to help you lose weight sell big in Amercia even if it doesn't work.

 The reason graphics and gameplay are linked is graphics help sells game so investors are interested in graphics. Before a developer can sell a  game to gamers they must first sell it to investors/publisher.

 Better graphics can mean sometimes more time to develop and add to a game.

Heavy Sword, Lair and other games, that were said to be appealing on the eye turned out to bad gameplay wise (much better example). 

The gameplay for resident evil 5 would also come to mind, because if you do play with the AI, the whole game is ruined for you pretty much in a nutshell. 

True. again opinion. Just shows you. There isnt any right or wrong at all.

This thread is a perfect example of just how immature video games are, and especially their fans.Think of this as a good example

Avatar was trash, but it was entertaining trash.

The Godfather part 2 was a good movies.

Any person who has somethign ebtween his ears, and is mature enough, will be able to tell you the above statements.

However it seems that in video gaming etertaing trash is absolutely always equal to quality. Which is very hilarious and speaks volumes about the type of people who play games.

I haven't seen a Wii game yet that could not have benefited with a better GPU more ram. The reason why Wii graphics looked so dated is Nintendo went cheap, extremely cheap on the Wii's GPU.

To me this post is the exact same thing as what you think of thread. I happen to love Avatar. I dont think it's trash at all. I know may who disagree with you. Opinion my friend.

While I do not disagree that avatar was horrible. It was downright a very bad film, that I wish I had my time and money back.  Also add that this is an opinion, I know a lot of people who would argue with me. 

I disagree with your statement on video games or video gamers, the reason why I disagree, with the exception of few titles (in my personal opinion), I can't think of a case were graphics didn't amount to some level of quality(Selnor's argument).

Believe it or not, there are such things as inferior opinioins  and superior opnions. For example, the opinion that a woman's place is in the kitchen. It's an opinion, and a very unintelligent and immature one, thus an inferior one.

Keep that in mind next time you have a conversationo about movies with an intelligent, mature, person.

Except that is not always the case. Crysis was widely regarded as mediocre. Blizzard games are widely regarded as amazing. Blizzard's games can also probably run on a microwave.

Edit: Another example, Deus Ex was regarded as a very "eh" looking game even back in its day, yet it's regarded as one of the best games ever made.
