Well some people don't know how JRPG's are considered RPG's since you don't play a "Role" you just follow the characters story
In Oblivion/ME2 you play a role, you influence what happens in the world & galaxy (in ME2)
In the end they are all RPG's & Oblivion is one of the best ever created!

Cutting it short, the genre Last Story falls under is Action-RPG, most commonly used for JRPG that aren't turn based. (At least thats what I get from screens and descriptions)

Basically yeah, but it won't be a ARPG like the KH games so its misleading to say that. Bit IGN lists FF13 as an action RPG too so I'm confused....maybe there should be a "Tweaked ATB battle System" genre!

i mean come on, KH and FF are too different to be considered in the same genre, FF has more in common with turn based rpgs than with action rpgs
like in FF you 'choose' your character's actions whereas in action rpgs you press a button and that action happens
so i'd consider FF13, Xenoblade and The Last Story to be RPGs, while KH, Mass Effect and Tales are Action RPGs

Its so confusing the genre's become so big. But FF13 has less in similar with action RPG's, it has the ATB system. But IGN has put it under Action RPG. And I agree command based shouldn't be action RPG's, I mean in FF13 you can't manually move around the battle field/screen..its really un Action RPG like.
But as the genre has become so diverse & expansive even the sites like IGN must be confused, all I'll say is this
You can put an A in front of it, but its not an Action RPG!

The Last Story is a 1st party game. It's a joint project between Nintendo and MistWalker. Explains why the game looks and feels fantastic.

I'd say that means its 2nd party but yeah its clear ninty have been helping them with stuff.
On the other hand xenoblades graphics are poor in comparison.
