its sad that the ps3 had a new sku in less than a year, while the ps2's new sku came out 4 years after its launch and the wii hasn't even had one and is till beating it!!!
Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

@ a.l.e.x 59, he was saying that the PSP beat the DS, (when the PSP had it's new model and FF VII: CC) for a few weeks, and that the same thing was happening with PS3 compared to Wii ( because PS3, got a lower price, tonnes of games, and a new colour, and so had more sales for a lil while)

a lot of people are saying that it's only being boosted because of a price cut. Well, sure, it was droped to $399, but did you also take into consideration that $399 is a much more attractive price point? The 360 sold wonderfully worldwide, at $399 (not including Japan, since they hate the 360) but still, $400 is a point that a LOT more people are willing to pay for, and then add the Sony brand loyalty, and that results in a CONSTANT stream of sales.....it's still selling well half way into December
I mean, a lot have said that the Japanese are just liking the new SKU and it will wear off......if Sony made a new SKU at $249, and sales increased, would you say that it was "because of a price cut and a new SKU, sales will go back down" or would you realize that the only thing holding PS3 back is the price?

yeah it will, and it'll start somewhere in 2008 when people realize the wii is a gimmick and ps3 starts coming out with amazing AAA titles.
end of 2007 the Wii is about to reach the 18 million when the PS3 is not going to reach number 9 so now we talk about 10 millions in one year !! so please !!! PS3 can never ever surpass the Wii !!! hope for the PS3 surpassin the Xbox 360 that's all I can expect.

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.
Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.
1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
